Sync files not folders non recursively
Hi all, I am now trying to find a solution to my problem for quite some time. I hope you can help. What I am trying to do is to simply sync files with a special suffix to a destination folder. So I dont want to transfer recursively but I want to delete files from the destination which are not in the source anymore. Closest I have gotten is using this command: /usr/bin/rsync -dnolptgvze --delete

virt-install behind proxy (Xen Newbie)
How does one install a new vm behind a proxy? When I start the virt-install routine Xen seems to be unable to load information from the ftp/http sources. As a consequence, I tried to install from the DVD-iso as well as the file system. Xen then prompts "What type of media contains the packages to be installed?". After choosing ''hard drive'' it prompts that I do not seem

Bug#368417: xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386: cannot start NetBSD-HEAD
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386 Version: 3.0.2+hg9681-1 Severity: important Have been trying to get NetBSD to run under debian unstable with the debian supplied hypervisor. Using the 3.0.2-2 hypervisor supplied by XenSource, it works just fine. Because the install process overrides other things, reverified with debian hypervisor afterwards and symptom continues. Attaching the netbsd.cfg and the

about: memory allocation and the balloon list
Dear all I use the command( xm mem-set ID mem ) trying to understand the memory allocation between the Dom0 and the Guests(vm), but there is still some confusion about this. As the above /proc/xen/balloon list I set xm mem-set Domain-0 128 and changing the vm memory from 256 to 128: xm mem-set vm01 128 (...from vm01 to vm08) before mem-setCurrent allocation: 427792 kB

Because I am having trouble launching some vm''s that I recently built whereas I don''t have any problem at all launching some older images I made in very much the same way! First there is vm01 which works just fine: [root@lcent5-1:/etc/xen]$:xm create vm01 Using config file "./vm01". Started domain vm01

Cannot ssh to VM01 remotely
I can ssh into the Xen box over my LAN from another machine and I am logged in as vm01. But when I try to ssh in from work I can''t. I configured my router and I still cannot ssh into vm01. I know the sshd daemon is running because I can ssh locally. What could it be preventing me to ssh to vm01 remotely?? Thanks. Kashif _______________________________________________

XEN 3.2.0 default bridge changed ?
Hello ! I yesterday updated one server to XEN 3.2 which was running 3.1.2 before. The default bridge setup stopped working (Guests network packets were not forwarded to physical ethernet connection on eth0) My bridge setup looked like this: root@quadxeon2:~# brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces eth0 8000.003048359fc0 no

NAT: pings/DNS works but not the rest
Hello everybody, I''m new to Xen so forgive me if this is already well known issue. I''m using Ubuntu server 7.04 (feisty) with Xen 3.0.3 Everything works perfectly, apart from networking in NAT mode. With bridging it works, with NAT it works, well, quite strange. Namely, pings go through and name resolution works. But when I try to use anything substantial, then

using tc on xen
Hi Everyone! My knowledge of tc is very much limited and i got introduced to it by my need for traffic limiting on xen based VM''s. For every VM there is a interface. The network is a bridged network. Has any one tried out something like this ? I tried the below script to limit download on an interface however it didn''t seem to work. Still the interface is able to download at

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Laine I made the change and I can now ping across both bridges: br1 (192.168.0.0/24) and br1600 (192.168.1.0/24): br1: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500         inet 192.168.0.110  netmask 255.255.255.0  broadcast 192.168.0.255         inet6 fe80::1e98:ecff:fe1b:276d  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>         ether 1c:98:ec:1b:27:6d  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way around. Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on. So, thanks again for your help. Richard On 12/3/19 11:36 AM, Richard Achmatowicz wrote: > Laine >

changue bridge name, libvirt refuses to take new name
hi all, (this events ocurred before my previous mail about the uuid incident) so, I installed a vm host: rhel6 guest: centos6 network: bridge (br0, eth1 as slave) but then, I changed the name of the bridge from br0 to br1 (because br1<->eth1 seems pretty than br0<->eth1) so: - mv /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-br0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-br1 - edited
