Failed to start a "virtual machine " service on RHCS in CentOS 6
Hi? All:
I have two physical machines as KVM hosts (clusterA.RHCS and clusterB.RHCS) , an iscsi target set into GFS.
All I want is a HA Cluster which could migrate all the virtual machines on a node to another when the first node failed into some error status.
So I created a cluster "cluster" using RHCS ,added the two hosts into the cluster . created a fence device .
for every virtual

RDAC for IBM DS4700
Hi all,
I have problem with my servers. I use two of HP Blade Servers and RHEL 4.6
installed on them, and have IBM DS4700 connected to them.
In those servers are running RHCS (Red Hat Cluster Suite) with GFS for
handling Oracle Database.
Yesterday, I had missing one partition from the storage, suddenly. I called
IBM and they suggested to use RDAC.
The question is, Why should use IBM RDAC for

cs & gfs
Hi all,
I was informed[1] that gfs & rhcs packages are in the works but that there are some problems with the code. What are these problems? Can we do anything to help test / solve them?

Recommendations
We have two virtual machines on ESX 3 running CentOS 4.3 and we'd like
to turn them into some sort of highly available nfs file server.
Currently, I am familiar with DRBD and RHCS but I was curious what
others might recommend in such a situation.
I'm not sure how easily we could use RHCS in such a situation because we
don't really have the advantage of shared storage in this setup.

Proxy IMAP/POP/ManageSieve/SMTP in a large cluster enviroment
Hi to all in the list, we are trying to do some tests lab for a large scale
mail system having this requirements:
- Scale to maybe 1million users(Only for testing).
- Server side filters.
- User quotas.
- High concurrency.
- High performance and High Availability.
We plan to test this using RHEL5 and maybe RHEL6.
As a storage we are going to use an HP EVA 8400 FC(8 GB/s)
We defined this

gnbd help on centos
I've googled for this, but everything I find tends to talk about cluster
and doesn't give an example close enough that I can figure this out. I
have read the Red Hat Cluster Suite Configuring and Managing a Cluster
<http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/csgfs/browse/rh-cs-en/> links from
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/csgfs/. (I think these are mirred on

ocfs2 with RHCS and GNBD on RHEL?
Does anyone have OCFS2 running with the "Red Hat Cluster Suite" on RHEL?
I'm trying to create a more or less completely fault tolerant solution with two storage servers syncing storage with dual-primary DRBD and offering it up via multipath to nodes for OCFS2.
I was able to successfully multipath a dual-primary DRBD based GFS2 volume in this manner using RHCS and GNBD. But switched

CentOS and SL, together?

You do understand the redistribution issues with Java, correct?
It's a Sun problem (a typical thorn for Red Hat in general), not a Red Hat one.

Dovecot + DRBD/GFS mailstore
Hi guys,
I'm looking at the possibility of running a pair of servers with
Dovecot LDA/imap/pop3 using internal drives with DRBD and GFS (or
other clustered FS) for the mail storage and ext3 for the root drive.
I'm currently using maildrop for delivery and Dovecot imap/pop3 with
the stores over NFS. I'm looking for better performance but still
keeping the HA element I have now with

RHCS on CentOS4 - 2 node cluster problem
Hello fellows,
I have a problem with a 2 node RHCS cluster (CentOS 4) where node 1
failed and node 2 became active. That happened already last year and due
to holidays the customer didn't recognize it. The cluster is just a
failover for Apache and has no shared storage space.
Customer now saw the situation, tried to fix it by rebooting node 1,
which then failed to come back up. As

Apache/Cluster issue -- Single public IP address
I want to set up a cluster that is used for web hosting (RHCS cluster). Recently,
I experimented with a 2 node cluster and was able to run it successfully. However,
I have started facing some issues with Apache, which I had configured as a service
using the Cluster configuration tool. To do this Apache needs a floating IP address.
This address is in addition to the network interface IP address.
