Is there a way to use kvm-amd on centos 5.1? I dont want to mess with XEN. I want the hardware virtualization that is on my AMD chip. I played with putting 2.6.24 and centos 5.1 on my AMD laptop, got kvm-amd and that works. However I want to put this on my desktop that is running 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5. Any one using vnc server on centos 5.1? on 4.6 I had no issue. on 5.1 I am having times when on connetion the VNC serveris crashing and logs me out of all my open'ed items. I can relog in. But I was wondering if others are seeing this and if there is something to do about it. THanks, Jerry

Hi all, I have a 3G AM2 quad core CPU... x86_64 centos 5.3 When I am doing backing up to my external USB drive my system becomes sluggish. Clicking on a thunderbird compose takes some time to pop up the window. Typeing doesnt keep up etc... Is there something I can change so this backup doesnt slow my system down so much? I dont see HOW it can be taking so much CPU. top at times shows 0 idle
