[PATCH] * supermin support for FrugalWare (pacman-g2)
Hi,
(added myself as CC as I'm not subscribed to this MailingList curently)
I already sent a pull request via github, but was told that review via ML
is preferred.
Another patch for libguestfs will follow in a seperate Mail.
Greetings

[PATCH 0/3] RFC: appliance flavours
Hi,
this is a prototype of something I've around for some time.
Basically it is about adding new appliances in addition to the main
one currently used and kept up-to-date automatically: this way it is
possible to create new appliances with extra packages, to be used in
specific contexts (like virt-rescue, with more network/recovery tools)
without filling the main appliance.
It's still

[PATCH 0/3] supermin: add --include-packagelist
Hi,
to ease debugging issues with appliances (e.g. when used in libguestfs),
using --include-packagelist will add a file containing the list of all
the packages used.
Thanks,
Pino Toscano (3):
ext2: add ext2fs_chmod and ext2fs_chown
chroot: factor out file copy code

I was able to install stretch, starting from jessie [from
`virt-builder debian-8'], changing s/jessie/stretch/ in sources.list,
and upgrading in the usual way.
To install gfs2-utils I had to add jessie as another apt source [see
my final sources.list attached]. That package is not in stretch, I

[PATCH] appliance: Add ntfs-3g-system-compression (RHBZ#1703463).
This package in Fedora enables optional support for Windows 10
"CompactOS" (file-level compression), read-only, which is sufficient
for inspecting Windows guests and doing certain types of modifications
to them. Virt-v2v appears to work, but it may be that anything that
involves modifying a compressed file might not work.
I couldn't find the equivalent package in Debian or SUSE.

Re: Add support for slackware in supermin
Hi Pino,
Thanks for your reply and details.
I started looking at the others package manager code and as I see it there
is one main problem to port supermin to slackware distro.
Slackware builtin package management tools (pkgtool and slackpkg) do not
manage package dependencies. There is no easy solution to solve this
problem.
There are third party packet manager which manage dependencies but

[PATCH v2] daemon: Remove custom Augeas lenses.
v2 of previous patch, which fixes some missing bits.
For now I'm going to go with Pino's RHEL 7.1 patch, since it
is at least smaller than this. So I'm sending this to the list
just to have it archived for later.
Rich.

I'd prefer that patches are posted on the mailing list for review,
even a preliminary review.
You don't need to sign up, but there may be a short delay before
you post is approved.

[PATCH] build: Choose a virtual directory for the daemon which is not a symlink.
From: "Richard W.M. Jones" <rjones at redhat.com>
Check /sbin, /usr/sbin, /bin and /usr/bin to ensure that neither the
directory nor the parent (eg. /usr) is a symlink, and use this
directory for the virtual directory used to store guestfsd in the
appliance.

Re: Issue with virt-builder on Ubuntu 14.04
Rich you're right, I forgot to run make. I added 'set -x' and reran make
and then ran 'virt-builder -v -x' and it seems to hang at dhclient (see
attached log).

[PATCH 0/3] libguestfs: improve OpenSUSE support
Hi,
this series for libguestfs improves the support for OpenSUSE.
There are couple of changes (in testing-only stuff) needed to help
running the tests properly, and an update of the packagelist.
Pino Toscano (3):
builder: do not use xz --block-size for the test images
tests: make the scratch disk used for scratch much larger
appliance: initial packagelist for OpenSUSE
