Looks like I can reproduce this pretty easily, this happened upon ssh'ing into the server while I had a VM migrating into it. The system goes completely unresponsive (can't even

Hi, I'm having trouble applying ebtables-brnf-3_vs_2.4.22.diff to 2.4.22-1.2166.nptl. Applying the patch did not go well. Can anyone help me with this? TIA. nwfilter usage
I'm trying to accomplish what I had hoped would be a fairly simple filtering of traffic to my VMs, but I'm hitting a snag. The VMs are allowing traffic when I wouldn't expect them to. Host and Guest are both running the same platform: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS 0.9.8-2ubuntu17.19 I have a basic bridge enabled on the host: brctl addbr brdg brctl addif brdg eth1 ip link set brdg up The host

Profiling hotspots in my tc filter ruleset
Hi, after I saw that my machine was having problems to forward more than 200 Mbit/s, I decided to profile the kernel and find out the hotspots. This is what I found: [...] 1028 bridge.ko __br_forward 1033 bridge.ko br_nf_forward_finish 1074 bridge.ko ip_sabotage_in 1119 ebtable_filter.ko ebt_hook 1177 sky2.ko

Anyhow, I ran into it when setting up this strange network of mine.. I dont think my setup is causing anything strange however.. It appears even if no machine is connected to the "inner" port of the bridge.. I

Stability issues since moving to 4.6 - Kernel paging request bug + VM left in null state
Since moving from 4.4 to 4.6, I've been seeing an increasing number of stability issues on our hypervisors. I'm not clear if there's a singular root cause here, or if I'm dealing with multiple bugs. One of the more common ones I've seen, is a VM on shutdown will remain in the null state and a kernel bug is thrown: xen001 log # xl list Name

Soft lockups with Xen4CentOS 3.18.25-18.el6.x86_64
I've been running 3.18.25-18.el6.x86_64 + our build of xen 4.4.3-9 on one host for the last couple of weeks and have gotten several soft lockups within the last 24 hours. I am posting here first in case anyone else has experienced the same issue. Here is the first instance: sched: RT throttling activated NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s! Hi, At http://sourceforge.net/projects/ebtables/ you can find the following new releases: ebtables-brnf-3-vs-2.4.22 Changes: - let iptables see VLAN tagged IP traffic - bugfix for queued packets that get mangled in userspace - ebt_among module (Grzegorz Borowiak) - ebt_limit module (Tom Marshall) The patch compiles but I've done no further tests, but I probably didn't screw up.

invoking ebtables with tc

tcng questions: TCP_ACK, ebtables
Hi all, I have a couple of questions regarding tcng behavior. First - I want to mark TCP_ACK packets as high priority, a common case. I figured the tcp_ACK rule in fields4.tc would be enough but I''ve come across Jason Boxman''s tutorial and he recommends using: class( <$ack> ) if ip_len < 64 && ip_hl == 0x5 && (raw[33].b >> 4)

Secure Xen neworking help (route, ebtables, private network)
I need some help to configure a secure network on my Xen server. I have been looking online and it seems a I need a routed network. But I am having a terrible time implementing it. My setup: Xen 3.4.2 CentOS 5.5 Dom0 1 NIC (eth0) All guests will be HVM What I want to do is something similar to a firewall and port forwarding. e.g. DomU.1 has DHCP address of 10.0.0.50 (DHCP matches MAC to
