Cannot Read Access Control List - Error 1400
I have an app installer (more than one actually) that several times during the install produces an error like this:
Cannot read access control list.
Error code: 1400
This error is not fatal to the install process, so I am not really looking for anyone to solve the issue, but I am wondering if this is a Wine limitation or if it should be considered a full fledged bug?

Dawn of War trouble and other questions
Hi:
I'm a relative noob to Wine, and I'm having a little trouble getting Dawn of War (regular, plus Winter Assault) to run under Debian Lenny. When I try to install it, it always tries to install automatically to the c: drive, which I don't want to do because I don't have enough space (running on a laptop).
I do, however, have a USB external drive, which I'd like it to load

Unminimize / Repaint problem
Can anyone confirm/reproduce this (with Wine 0.9.58 and Gnome 2.20) ?
Start gnome terminal.
$ regedit
Click window Minimize button.
Repeatedly click Gnome taskbar button "Registry", and unminimized regedit window intermittently fails to paint.
I am getting similar repaint issues with various other programs too.

Running XP programs in wine
I am trying to run "Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0" on Ubuntu 7.04 in
wine-0.9.41 but I get this error: "This application is not supported

How can I make wine emulate Windows XP? Thanks in advance.

smoothest way to upgrade R, say from 2.6.1 to 2.6.2?
Like many software assemblies, R is updated frequently. Also, it
creates its own release-numbered directory when it is installed.
Packages get dumped into the subdirectory "library". I have a personal
habit of storing documents related to R packages in the "doc"
subdirectory.
Here are my questions.
(1) How do people manage an upgrade, from 2.6.1, say, to 2.6.2? 2.6.2

IDAFree-4.9: screen does not get displayed properly
Hello,
when I try and run IDA (wine idafree49.exe) under wine-0.9.56
(also wine-0.9.36) the screen with the assembler listing
(and other listings) does not get displayed properly:
The strings overwrite each other, thus leading to an unreadable
result. Cf.

how can I plot bar plots with all the bars (negative and positive) in the same direction????
Dear r-help mailing list,
this seems stupid, but I actually don't find the solution:
if I have a vector of numbers x of length n, ranging, say, from -3 to 4, if I do
barplot (x)
all the values below 0 go downwards, and all the positive values go upward. How can I make them all begin from the minimum pointing upwards?
Thanks!

The semantics of the fptrunc instruction with an example of incorrect optimisation
I've recently been looking at how to implement in LLVM IR the rounding
of floating point values when casting using different rounding modes
and I've hit some problems.
It seems that when casting down floats to less precise types the
``fptrunc`` LLVM IR instruction is used. The LLVM language reference
suggests that it just truncates the value (which would be equivalent
to rounding towards

Bugzilla Registration fails
I want to add a bug in bugzilla, and I must register before. When I try, my ask seems to be accepted, and I have the message:
To confirm the creation of the user account xxxx.yyyyy at zzzzz.fr (my mail address), use the URL given in the email you will receive. If you take no action in the next 3 days, this request will automatically be canceled.
The problem, is that I never receive this mail. I

Investigating international calls fraud
Hello,
I'm investigating a situation where there was a hundreds of minutes of
calls from an internal SIP extension to an 855 number in Cambodia,
resulting in a crazy ($25,000+) bill from the phone company. I'm
investigating, but can anyone provide some feedback on what's happened
here? I'm investigating how this happened as well as what types of
arrangements can be made with the

Preventing a user from moving "up" directories
I am in the process of setting up a new server. In the process I cannot
remember what I need to set so that an FTP user cannot move upward in
the directory tree of the user's directory. The FTP server is VSFTP.
The user's directory is owned by the user and the permissions are 775.
Isn't there a setting in httpd.conf to prevent that?

Console latency
Another bizarry: If I run the Echo application from the console, I can hear
a very long delay (upward to 1,000 ms). I can run the same application from
a GrandStream phone (on the same LAN) and hear little delay. What could
possibly be wrong? If it were interrupt overload, I'd hear lots of cracks
in my echo, right? I'm not hearing that. Besides, a telephony card is not
involved.

[LLVMdev] unwind's permanent residence
I thought the ARM EHABI added a twist to this because it created some upward dependency from the unwinder to libc++abi.
Other than that, I don’t have any strong feeling where it lives.

[LLVMdev] Liveness information still usable after register allocation?
Hi all,
Sorry to bother those not interested in this problem.
I have a problem while I want to reuse the liveness information after
register allocation.
When I use the livein_begin() from MachineBasicBlock to get the live-in
registers after
register alloction. I found that the liveness information is sometime
incorrect. For example,
some registers should be live-in to the machine basic block as

wineasio 0.7.4
Hi all,
The on-going development of wineasio continues with the release of 0.7.4. This
release is primarily aimed at fixing a couple of bugs and addressing some JACK
xrun issues.
I'm most interested in hearing from people who are having xruns with the 0.7.x
series but for whom 0.5 (or 0.6a) works.
Regards,
