PXELinux + Altiris + Tivoli.
Hello All. I have few networks with Tivoli Provision Manager (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/tiv/pmfos/?S_TACT=105AGX28&S_CMP=TRIALS ), Altiris (http://www.symantec.com/business/deployment-solution) and WDS (on W2008Stdx32). I successfully expand WDS functionally with pxelinux (4.03).I really like how pxelinux working. Server who respond on client request is on Windows 2008

Syslinux 6.03-pre7: EFI64 broken (Gene Cumm)
Gene, Where did you find the precompiled binaries for syslinux 6.03-pre7? Actually, I'm interested in the pre-compiled binaries for syslinux 6.03-pre6. I went out to kernel.org, but the latest they have is 6.02. Which appears to have an endian problem in its TFTP client code (when syslinux.efi tries to connect to the TFTP server, attempts to connect to UDP port 17664 instead of 69).

Will syslinux UEFI boot the RHEL7.0 kernel (3.10.0-123.el7.x86_64) ?
All, Is syslinux 6.03 able to UEFI boot the RHEL7.0 Linux kernel? I'm trying & failing to do this. I haven't UEFI-booted RHEL7.0 kernel via syslinux before. (But I have UEFI pxelinux booted Fedora 20, which is approximately RHEL7.0.) I remember HPA mentioned that older Linux kernels required "UEFI boot assist", something that GRUB2 offers but syslinux does not. And

[Slightly Off-topic] PXE question
Hello! I am considering proposing my college's staff the usage of PXELinux, to replace the commercial alternative (Rembo). My question is, can PXE boot images be compressed? If so, how? Because a Windows 2000 boot image is already big, but with no compression... it kinda makes it unusable. Thank you for your time and attention! pxelinux.0 not fully booting in EFI 64 mode...not requesting ldlinux.e64 via TFTP...
There are no pre-compiled binaries (official or otherwise) on kernel.org. I assume what is meant is https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/ At least, that is where the "downloads" page of syslinux.org directs you. Under there are the various source tarballs (tar.gz format, tar.bz2 format). Also a directory called RPMS/. But that kernel.org RPMS/ directory is devoid of

[LLVMdev] XMas Cambridge LLVM Social
Hi guys, We're doing a special XMas social next week (12th Dec), same time, same pub (Tivoli) and same time. Why special? No idea, just because it's December. Anyway, not many people will come, we know, but we're going to go anyway, since the beer is cheap and we have nothing better to do on a Wednesday evening. Oh, and folks have discounts on beer, to make them even cheaper.

pxelinux.0 not fully booting in EFI 64 mode...not requesting ldlinux.e64 via TFTP...
All, I was excited to hear about EFI boot support in pxelinux >= 6.00. So I tried it. Not working. I've tried 6.02 (from source), 6.02 (from RPM), early 6.03 (from RPM) and even pulled/compiled latest source from git. 6.0.3-pre7. No love. My boot client can boot/image fine in legacy PXE mode. My dhcpd.conf looks like this: # In initial DHCP DISCOVER packet, PXE client sets option

Samba & Tivoli Storage Mgr (TSM) Integration Query ???
All, Can anyone confirm that Samba/Solaris will integrate with TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) when deployed into a Wintel client environment. ie. Solaris/Samba as a TSM client - we need to be sure that the ACL's will be maintained correctly via a TSM backup/restore (full or partial) Or confirm this does not work, which is not what we want to hear - but the truth will suffice. Many thanks,

syslinux.efi [PXELINUX EFI 64 boot] not properly TFTP'ing ldlinux.e64
H Peter, I notice the Intel Boot Agent (in the BOOT ROM) takes a different approach. When TFTP loading the initial syslinux.efi. It receives the OACK with both options set -- tsize (of 145744) and blksize (of 1408). Apparently it has challenges parsing this "two option" OACK packet. But it remembers the tsize of 145744. So it issues another read request, this time requesting only a

isolinux.bin checksum
Until Syslinux 3.86, isolinux.bin contained a checksum that was calculated by 'core/checksumiso.pl'. The checksum is related to the patching of the boot info table. During May 2009, a commit by Peter deleted the checksumiso.pl file. The commit is: core: LZO compress the PM part of the core repo.or.cz/syslinux.git/commit/0d82b71304d596d80f3c4520f9dcf90048ca50b7 And so, since
