SysLinux 5.0 - Problems booting via PXE
Hello SysLinux Team,
I have recently installed version 5.0of SysLinuxwhat may be I should not have
done so.
Now my problem is, that everytime I start via PXE (gpxe) I only get the boot:
prompt and
not the menu as expected (all was working fine with previous versions incl 4.06)
In the server log I can see atftpd serving some files to the workstation but not

OT: BIOS upgrades and booting without a floppy drive
I've got a machine running CentOS 3.5 with an Intel D865GBF
motherboard and I've been having an occasional "event" where
disk-intensive activity (such as running "yum check-update" or
starting up OpenOffice) causes the load average to spike and X11 to
become unresponsive (as in, the pointer won't even track the mouse)
for a few seconds. The machine always recovers

convert table to list
Hi there,
This is probably a rather simple question - but I was not able to solve it
so far.
I would like to convert the following table:
A B C D
x 10 20 30 40
y 11 21 31 41
z 12 32 42
to a list with three columns like:
A x 10
A y 11
A z 12
B x 20
.
.
.
Any hints how do do this in R would be very much apprechiated.
cheers,
Herwig

bargraph.CI change se for sd
Hi there,
I am a beginner.
I would like to change the error bars in the bargraph.CI function from the
default (se) to (sd). The help file says
ci.fun= function(x) c(fun(x)-se(x), fun(x)+se(x))
Is there a simple way of telling the function what (x) precisely is - I
already define in in the of the bargraph.CI function and assume that is
should be able to use that information.
cheers,

Error : unused arguments in pairs()
Hi there,
I am just starting in R and this might be a very basic question.
I applied one on the examples of
pairs()
to my own data. The examples shows scatter plots on one side of the matrix
and the correlation coefficients on the other which works well. I then
modified it slightly because I want different colors in the plots. Now i am
getting the error of unused arguments, because the color

CentOS 3 sound intermittently goes out
I'm running CentOS 3.6. The hardware is an Intel D865GBF motherboard,
but I also have a generic soundblaster-compatible PCI card installed,
because back when I installed CentOS 3.1 I had problems getting the
onboard sound to work.
The PCI sound card worked fine until about the time I installed CentOS
3.5. Since then, however, it has failed intermittently. Once it
fails, it's generally

display p-values and significance levels
Hi there,
I got a piece of code for the Iris data which allows to display correlation
coefficients for each Iris species in the lower panel (color coded). I would
now like to add e.g. a "*" to show the significance of each correlation next
to the correlation coefficient.
Furthermore I would like to make a t.test between the species "setosa" and
"versicolor" for

Static on outgoing calls using either X100P or TDM400P
Hello. I've seen several posts talking about line quality using Digium
cards that are sharing IRQs or on machines where X is running but after
trying all of those fixes I am still having a problem with line static
on outoing calls. BTW, calls that are from one extension to another
extension have no static, however, they have occasional clicks and
pops. At any rate, I was wondering if

Will Centos work with the Intel D865GLC
I need to replace my Abit BE7 board (cannot run the newer Linux) and
keep my near new IDE HD's (250 GB). A D865GLC is new available that
uses the Intel 865G chip set, but I have no experience in matching
Mobo's with Linux.

R: pp plot
hi all
i would like to know if anyone has a reference on how one would place
the "bands" on the pp plot.
i want to test whether or not a certain data set comes from a particular
distribution (not normal).
i've already plotted F(X(j)) vs j/(n+1) where F(x) is the cum dist
function, X(j) is the j'th order statistic and n is the sample size.
a goole search gave arb references

FW: pxelinux 5.x, 6.x memtest problem
Additional information:
I was tried it with 2 virtualbox (version 4.2.14r86644).1rst: debian weezy with isc-dhcp-server, pxelinux5.01, pxelinux 6.00, tftp-hpa2nd: empty virtualbox booting from virtual network card.

dendrogram branches with different lty
Dear r-list,
I am trying to visually seperate the two main clusters of a dendrogram.
The idea is to use:
'edgePar=list(lty=3)' for 'dend1[[1]]' and
'edgePar=list(lty=1)' for 'dend1[[2]]'
I have not found a way to solve this. Any suggestions?
Patrick
hc <- hclust(dist(USArrests), "ave")
(dend1 <- as.dendrogram(hc))
par(mfrow=c(2,2))
plot(dend1)
