Second Monitor left of internal monitor turns internal monitor black
Hi Ilia, with 'xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA-1-2 --auto --left-of LVDS1' it seems to work properly. Thank you. Do you know about a tool which integrates well in Ubuntu? Maybe a GUI for xrandr? The other option would be to use some bash script, which also is okay for me. Just for your information the outputs of 'xrandr -q' and 'xrandr --listproviders': nicolas

Instable graphics with GeForce GT 730M, especially on external monitor
Sigh ... you're on wayland. xrandr is just showing you what's passed through via Xwayland, which is not the connector names. Let's try something else... grep . /sys/class/drm/card*-*/status Should give you the status of each connector. Is it the DP-* ones that are connected, or are e.g. VGA-1 or DVI-D-1/etc connected? -ilia On Wed, Jun 19, 2019 at 2:03 AM Harald Harders

regression? no more separate xscreens
Dear Devs, The support for multiple xscreens (i.e. no xinerama, just separate :0.0 and :0.1 displays) in nouveau is broken. It would be great if someone could confirm this. It is easily done, by commenting the "xinerama" option from the xorg.conf file: https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/MultiMonitorDesktop/ With the nvidia proprietary drivers separate xscreens work fine. NV43: Native resolution not available on Dell 2007FP
I have a Dell 2007FP monitor. NV43 (GeForce 6600) can not use the native resolution. 1600x1200 is listed under "DDC gathered Modelines" with the rest of the info, but then is missing from "probed modes". I have a secondary card, NV4a (GeForce 6200, PCI). It works with this card. This card does not show "DDC gathered modelines" at all, and 1600x1200 is listed

New monitor weirdnesses (CentOS 5.11)
I just got a new monitor for my desktop system (the old one died after *many* years of service). The new monitor is a high res 16:9 monitor, but the VESA video driver insists on using 1024x768 (which was the resolution of the *old* monitor). It does seem to detect higher, 16:9 resolutions but it is not using them. I *think* I need to set some low-level video mode thing, but it has been a
