ext3+raid 1: Assertion failure in journal_commit_transaction()
We're getting the below errors about once a day on a system we're trying to set up with RedHat 7.3. This has happened to multiple filesystems on multiple physical and logical disks (basically we've got 4 drives as 2 sets of RAID 1 arrays, details below). Until a week ago, this box was a high-volume IMAP server running RedHat 6.2 with uptimes in the 200-day range, so I don't

partedmagic connecting to a comcast address
Possibly your system was installed or cloned using PartedMagic, and that left an entry in /etc/ethers mapping your default nic to the name 'PartedMagic'? File System corruption
Hi, Yesterday I nuked an old fat32 partition on my hard drive using fdisk. I just destroyed the partition and then created a new linux partition. Then I created an ext3 filesystem with the following command mkfs.ext3 -j /dev/hdc1 Everything seemed fine so I went ahead and moved all my music (MP3s and FLACS) onto that partition. This morning when I turn on my computer I can't mount that

boot problem after disk change on raid1
Hello, I have two disks sda and sdb. One of the was broken so I have changed the broken disk with a working one. I started the server in rescue mode, and created the partional table, and added all the partitions to the software raid. *I have added the partitions to the RAID, and reboot.* # mdadm /dev/md0 --add /dev/sdb1 # mdadm /dev/md1 --add /dev/sdb2 # mdadm /dev/md2 --add /dev/sdb3 # mdadm

partedmagic connecting to a comcast address
i have been noticing a short connection burst in system monitor every time i connect to internet. i got curious and decided to run wireshark to see what was happening. seems that i am connecting to 96.195.141.178 with destination of "PartedMagic". this seemed strange because i do not have PartedMagic installed, so i ran a 'whois' check. this is what it showed: IP Location

Installing syslinux from source
Hi, I need to use syslinux with partedmagic to create a bootable USB version of partedmagic. I installed syslinux using apt-get, the version installed is 3.31-4 (which is quite old).? This version seems to be lacking -d option to specify a directory for syslinux configuration file. What debian repository can the latest version of syslinux be found on ? So I downloaded the latest source 3.72,
