Fixing a rejected peer
Please run 'gluster v get all cluster.max-op-version' and what ever value
it throws up should be used to bump up the cluster.op-version (gluster v
set all cluster.op-version <value>) . With that if you restart the rejected
peer I believe the problem should go away, if it doesn't I'd need to
investigate further once you can pass down the glusterd and cmd_history log
files and

Volume mounts read-only
Hello Glusterites,
I have a volume that will not mount read/write. V3.10.3 on Centos 7, this is a replica-3 volume, mounted with the fuse client. This is in support of an Ovirt installation, but I've isolated the problem to Gluster. `gluster peer status` looks normal, as does a `gluster v status`. Server.allow-insecure is set to on.
Notable from the client volume logs are the 'connection

FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE/kqueue high CPU load
Hi to ALL!
I have dovecot-1.0r7 installed on FreeBSD 6.1, using kqueue and Maildir
(<20 mailboxes, < 0,5 Gb size). Periodically CPU load of imap processes
increasing up to 60-80%.
Is it normall behavior or not? May be somebody had such kind of problems?

Reconstructing files from shards
The short answer is - no there exists no script currently that can piece
the shards together into a single file.
Long answer:
IMO the safest way to convert from sharded to a single file _is_ by copying
the data out into a new volume at the moment.
Picking up the files from the individual bricks directly and joining them,
although fast, is a strict no-no for many reasons - for example, when you

Unix installation
I am trying to install R on a unix workstation (Sun-SPARC) but I am not
sure which of the binaries to use. The only binaries available are for
linux, nextstep, osf, and windows. Which one of them will work for a
SUN sparc station?? Thanks.
PS. I tried to compile the source code but it looks like I have a
probelm with fortran. So, if I could install one of the binaries it
would be a lot

Reconstructing files from shards
Hello,
So I have a volume on a gluster install (3.12.5) on which sharding was enabled at some point recently. (Don't know how it happened, it may have been an accidental run of an old script.) So it has been happily sharding behind our backs and it shouldn't have.
I'd like to turn sharding off and reverse the files back to normal. Some of these are sparse files, so I need to account

smbclient 127.0.0.1 timeout .... PCs can't browse LInux share
Let's see I've got a network about 10 PCs running XP and 1 running
Linux. I had setup Samba and it was running like a charm. XP pcs
could access linux box through network neighborhood and access 2
shared dir and edit/change files.
Really not sure what has gone wrong. I am using Samba 2.2.8a
I run both smbd and nmbd as daemons. When I run ps -aux they show up.

Problems joining new gluster 3.10 nodes to existing 3.8
Hi,
I have a problem joining four Gluster 3.10 nodes to an existing
Gluster 3.8 nodes. My understanding that this should work and not be
too much of a problem.
Peer robe is successful but the node is rejected:

peer detach: success
gluster> peer probe elkpinfglt07
peer probe: success.

strange hostname issue on volume create command with famous Peer in Cluster state error message
I'm guessing there's something wrong w.r.t address resolution on node 1.
>From the logs it's quite clear to me that node 1 is unable to resolve the
address configured in /etc/hosts where as the other nodes do. Could you
paste the gluster peer status output from all the nodes?
Also can you please check if you're able to ping "pri.ostechnix.lan" from
node1 only? Does

PXELINUX - no boot file found
PXELinux from a DHCP server - read the docs - couldnt be simpler.
I'm afraid its beaten me, no matter what I do I always get the same result

For the life of me I cannot see what I'm doing wrong and would appreciate

Domain/workgroup browsing
Howdy:
I've been trying to make Samba do what I want it to do,
and mostly, it does. This is with the precompiled
and debianized (Debian Linux) binaries of Samba
2.0.7 .
I have but one problem with samba.
In this company, we have an NT domain called
transecure. The new samba server is not the PDC
of the domain, but is supposed to be a member.
Thus, I put in smb.conf
workgroup = TRANSECURE
