New Style Replication in Version 4
I am landing here again following a spell on the list when I worked at XMA in the UK. Hello again. I have a use case of having a remote office, which should be able to have a common storage area with a main office. At the last company I worked with, we used GPFS with AFM to achieve this (not really relevant to this list). I at first though Geo Replication would be ideal for this use case,

GPFS AFM Export Problem
Hi All, I'm having a frustrating time exporting a GPFS Independent Writer AFM fileset through Samba. Native GPFS directories exported through Samba seem to work properly, but when creating an export which points to an AFM IW fileset, I get "Access Denied" errors when trying to create files from an SMB client and even more unusual "Failed to enumerate objects in the container:

Hi Alex, John Thanks for confirming my suspicion that there is no getting away from POSIX tree traversal . I was aware of age-du but not robinhood. I rather like agedu It probably does what you want. But as Mohammad says you do have to traverse your filesystem. https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/agedu/ agedu: track down wasted disk space - chiark home page<https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/agedu/> www.chiark.greenend.org.uk agedu. a Unix utility for tracking down wasted disk space Introduction. lm prediction strange error
Dear all, I have an error in the simple prediction function for lm(). Maybe someone experienced the same? xma <- matrix(data = 0, nrow = 100, ncol = 2) xma[, 1] <- rnorm(100) xma[, 2] <- rchisq(100, df = 3) m1 <- lm(xma[, 1] ~ xma[, 2]) predict(m1, as.data.frame(seq(-13, 13, 0.5))) Thanks a lot, Trafim [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Usage monitoring per user
Hi, There are several programs that will basically take the outputs of your scans and store the results in a database. If you size the database appropriately, then querying that database will be much quicker than querying the filesystem. But of course the results will be a little bit outdated. One such project is robinhood. https://github.com/cea-hpc/robinhood/wiki A simpler way might be to

Printing problems with wine
Hello, I have some Problems with getting WINE to print. I'm using wine on a non-Windows machine with Debian Potato. Everything works fine except printing. When I try to print something I always get something like "Printer not setup properly". The errormessage from wine is err:psdrv:PSDRV_AFMGetCharMetrics No whitespace found. My .wine/config -file looks like this: [parallelports]

Patch for GPFS support
Hi all My apologies for dragging up a very old mail from the depths of the rsync archives: http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2008-October/021963.html I'm trying to use Ronnie's patch to get rsync to copy my GPFS NFSv4 ACLs. I'm having trouble building Ronnie's gpfs.c though - it turns out my programming isn't up to a challenge greater than "configure; make"!

Hello, I want to use wine on x86 Solaris 8 to run free agent. I downloaded wine-20010510 and installed gcc 2.95.3 to compile wine, xpm, binutils, bison, flex and updated xvidmode.c. cannot set gpfs:sharemodes to yes
Hi, I'm trying to set up samba share exporting gpfs filesystem and I strugle with setting sharemode to yes. Samba is 3.6.5, gpfs version is 3.2.1-29 (the latest available for 3.2 branch). Everything works fine when sharemode is set to no, but I'd rather insist to switch it to yes. That's what man page says: no - do not propagate sharemodes across all GPFS nodes. This should only be

Arial font in eps figures in R
Hi, I am trying to create a graph using Arial font (as required by PLoS One). I have read probably all posts in R-help on this topic, as wells as R-news 2006. The code I have been trying is following: Arial <- Type1Font(family="Arial", metrics=c("ArialMT.afm", "arial-BoldMT.afm", "Arial-ItalicMT.afm",

font inclusions in pdf files
I am stumbling into external font issues here and there. I presume using external lucida fonts is fairly rare, so I am more likely to stumble onto issues here. (of course, I often think I have stumbled onto bugs/features that are not.) So, I hope I am not imposing by reporting the following. [1] can R please not include fonts that it is not using? luafmfiles <-

Changing ComputerModern in postscript(...): A first attempt at contributing....
Hi First off, thanks to all the various R developers, your package is very impressive. I'm not sure what the protocols are for contributing, and I've not done this before, so please excuse nay obvious errors or oversights... Also I'm by no means an R,TeX/LaTeX, or typesetting expert, I have largely stumbled my way to this point. Objective: I'd like to get R postscript(...) to

How to enable Arial font for postcript/pdf figure on Windows?
Hi, I need to generate some figure using the Arial font as a requirement for PLoS. Following their guidelines, I have converted the windows font files arial.tff files to .afm using tff2afm (exec file from MikTeX), but when I try to generate a postcript file, the postcript device does not recognize the .afm files. The code I use to test the new font is the following:

Hi all, At some point recently my customers can no longer see GPFS snapshots under the Windows Previous Versions tab. It simply says "No previous versions available".
