R Base installation not working
Hi Marius, If you're really using Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid lynx), the r-base package does not exist anymore on the repository (http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=r-base). You're version of Ubuntu is obsolete. If you want an Ubuntu LTS, you should upgrade to 14.04. >> Message: 1 >> Date: Sat, 15 Aug 2015 16:19:33 +1000 >> From: Marius Barnsley <mariusbarnsley at

Upgrade Gluster 3.7 to 3.12 and add 3rd replica [howto/help]
Hi Diego, I?ve tried to upgrade and then extend gluster with 3rd node in virtualbox test environment and all went without problems. Sharding will not help me at this time so I will consider upgrading 1G to 10G before this procedure in production. That should lower downtime - healing time of VM image files on Gluster. I hope healing will take as short as possible on 10G. Additional info for

404 - The file you requested could not be found
Marius, Yes, I think you nailed it. I built it from source and I did as root. And yes I am able to get audio at http://hostname:8000/voice. So now I know what the problem is but not sure how to fix it. A clean install? I kinda messed with the file permissions in the web directory shown below but that didn't solve my problem. new Gluster cluster: 3.10 vs 3.12
Hi We are planning to install new gluster cluster and I am wondering which gluster LTM version will you suggest to install: 3.10 or 3.12 in terms of stability, performance and bugs free version. It will be used in a production environment and we do not plan to downtime it often - therefore, stability and performance are important for us. Maybe my question is a little bit naive but in any

Hi Marius, thanks for your reply. URL auth via usern/pass seems what I need. I fail to understand is if and how would that reflect on logs. Care to elaborate further? Debian Testing: ~/.Renviron seems to not being read (R_LIBS not set)
Dear Johannes, Dear Dirk, Thanks a lot for helping. Here is the missing information. Here is how I installed R. This is basically how Martin Maechler showed me to install R under Ubuntu (in several versions so that they are also recognized by ESS). My goal is to adjust this to make it work for Debian: 1) sudo emacs /etc/apt/sources.list # then add: deb

Server RAM filling up when writing to share from macOS
Hi, I noticed an absolutely work-breaking behavior in Samba 4.12 (not present in 4.11 or lower): when writing to a share (Arch Linux server) from macOS, smbd?s RAM usage is going up pretty much exactly the size of the transferred files - and is released *only* when the connection is completely closed. So obviously, when keeping the share mounted, copying files finally leads to Samba eating up all

Blocking IP addresses on a per mountpoint level
Ah, I must have overlooked that requirement in my first reply. I don't think you can do it natively in Icecast, and doing this in the kernel will be too low level and too wide a block, so I guess a web application firewall or a reverse proxy is the way to go. Maybe setting up HAproxy or similar could solve this? -- Marius On 26.03.2020 13:49, Chip wrote: > Thanks. > > Indeed - but

Unable to utilize past 1 gbps
Hi Zsolt, looking at the metrics from Proxmox it doesn't look like anything breaks there. What about at the operating system level? Could there be some limits there? Have you checked corresponding kernel or system logs? Which OS/distribution are you using? Checked the logs there? If nothing screams there, maybe start looking at a load balancer and scale with several more VMs? -- Marius

Hi Marius, Will make the changes and see how it goes. On the other hand https://cbs.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=27138 if the above was released we could just install and migrate to rh-php73-php, which is not affected as per https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/cve-2019-11043 thanks --- Thomas Stephen Lee On Thu, Oct 31, 2019 at 8:40 PM Marius ROMAN <marius at roman.systems>

Dear Marius, In addition to that attached please find a screenshot from Proxmox on statistics. Do you know any ice cast servers that puts out more than 1 gbps for a longer period? Just curious whether anyone was able to go beyond 1 gbps for an extensive time. Thank you!
