samba file server in active directory domain - manage acls
Hello,
I'm considering moving our windows shares (2003 domain) to a samba server,
to improve performance, setup clustering and use scheduled lvm snapshots.
However, I've not clarified how our current security policy would be applied
on this server and like to ask you some things (sorry, I'm sure they already
have been posted but there is so much on this topic to read I prefer to ask

samba file server with heartbeat and drbd
Hello,
While working on heartbeat/pacemaker for a web service stored on drbd, I've
thought what I've learnt could also be applied to samba in order to build a
fault tolerant file server in our domain.
While digging samba's doc, I've found that CTDB could also fulfill the need
and is maybe better suited as it's samba-related.
But on the other hand, I'd appreciate to begin

simple command to check domain membership
Hello,
I'm planning to automate domain joining with samba+winbind for a classroom.
Using cfengine, I'll have to trigger domain joining by checking current
status via a shell command.
An example :
has_hostname = ( '/bin/test -f /etc/hostname' )
What would be a simple and safe test to check whether or not the machine has
already been joined to the domain ?
Thanks in advance,

List of updates in Update 3 ?
While update 3 was released last week, it looks
like there are 40 or so packages updated. I dunno
about squid, it is listed on
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html
but the changelog is from October 2005 (unless it is an rhel only
bug).

Is there a corrupt iputils rpm located on one or more of the CentOS

Re: /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge: line 62: ip:commandnot found
I dont know gentoo, but the package might be called iproute2. You might
also need the bridge-utils.

[PATCH] Use guestfsd binary to auto-generate library dependencies for appliance
The ELF NEEDED are used to determine guestfsd's library dependencies
with help from the dynamic linker and the package manager.
This was prompted by Debian bug #972241 which was caused by a
libtirpc package renaming in Debian/unstable because the SONAME had
been changed.
