Hello. I am trying to find a way to retrieve data from Harvard Dataverse website. I usually don't have problem in web-scraping data but the problem here is that there are a bunch of data formats such as .tab, .7z and so and I just can't find a way to retrieve the data I am interested in woth an unique solution. Any hint? [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Web scraping different levels of a website
Hey Ilio, I revisited the previous code i posted to you and fixed some things. This should let you collect as many studies as you like, controlled by the num_studies arg. If you try the below url in your browser you can see that it returns a "simpler" version of the link you posted. To get to this you need to hit F12 to open Developer Tools --> go to Network tab and click on the

dataframes from a function
Hi, I'm trying to create a function to return three dataframes for later use in a graphic so I want the return from the function to give me dataframes and with unique names relating to the variable they are based on. For example..... sub<-c("6-1a","6-1a","6-1a","9-2b","9-2b","9-2b","7c","7c","7c")

HELP! Excel and R give me totally different regression results using the exact same data
Hallo, I am totally confused why Excel and R give me totally different regression results for the data below. If you know the solution, please enlighten me. In Excel I used LINEST() and Data>Data Analysis>Regression and both (fortunately) gave the same result. The coefficients were: /b0=1.16, b1=0.957, b2=0.024, R2=0.0027, adjusted R2=-0.017/ In R I used

Help with loess
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can't seem to get loess values. It looks like loess is returning the same values as the input. j <-loess(x1$total~as.numeric(index(x1) plot(x1$total,type='l', ylab='M coms/y global',xlab='') lines(loess(total~as.numeric(index(x1)),x1)) The plot statement works fine No errors with the "lines" statement But I don't

Determining which.max() within groups
cumsum() seems to be what you need. This can probably be done more elegantly, but ... out <- aggregate(Q ~ wyr, data = Daily, which.max) tbl <- table(Daily$wyr) out$Q <- out$Q + cumsum(c(0,tbl[-length(tbl)])) out ## yields wyr Q 1 1990 4 2 1991 6 3 1992 9 4 1993 15 5 1994 18 I leave the matter of Julian dates to you or others. Cheers, Bert Bert Gunter "The trouble

GLMM post- hoc comparisons
Hi All, I have data about seed predation (SP) in fruits of three differents colors (yellow, motted, dark) and in two fruiting seasons (2007, 2008). I performed a GLMM (lmer function, lme4 package) and the outcome showed that the interaction term (color:season) was significant, and some combinations of this interaction have significant Pr(>|z|), but I don't think they are the right

subsetting data frame using by() or tapply() or other
Ok so I see the problem that I'm having creating a new variable (LAG1DBC) in the example data transformation below is that tapply() is creating a list that is not dimensionally consistent with the data frame (data). So how do I go from the list output of tapply() to create a dimensionally consistent vector that can create the new variable in my original data frame? I've been trying

How do I plot a line followed by two forecast points?
Good day all, I'm trying to plot a continuous line plot, which is followed by two forecast points eg. one forecast point is 12 months out, and another 24 months out from the last date of the line plot. In my attempts so far, the second plot (the forecast points) is scaled against a new axis scale, thus the two plots are not directly comparable (I need the forecast points to be scaled
