NUT 2.x causes uhci-usb error messages in syslog.
Hello, For a while I have been running NUT 2.0.0 just fine with my APC Back-UPS RS 800 using the usbhid interface. I decided to upgrade to 2.0.2, and all went well (upsc and upsd/upsmon seem happy to talk to the UPS), but I am getting a ton of these messages in my syslog: Jul 6 17:12:45 yggdrasil kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 780 Jul 6 17:12:50 yggdrasil kernel:

NT domain login no longer works after distro upgrade (samba 4.2.12 -> 4.3.11, 4.4.5)
Workstation  is member of NT domain, DC is samba 3.6.12. Was running Fedora 22 (samba 4.2.12), domain logins were working fine. Upgraded to Fedora 23 (samba 4.3.11) and domain logins no longer work: "Domain Controller unreachable, using cached credentials instead." Can connect to shares on the DC (e.g., with smbclient) without problem. Upgraded to samba 4.4.5 (from Fedora 24), issue

UDP in flash
Flash does support interactive audio/video, not only streaming. And there is a new protocol called RTMFP in flash 10, which is on top of UDP. RE: pronunciation? -- loving CentOS doesn't mean you have to bash Red Hat
From: Martyn Drake <martyn at drake.org.uk> > When I did try that support, it didn't give me a favourable > impression. However, that's just my opinion. It's good enough that HP is losing lots of clients because HP (among other tier-1 OEMs short of IBM) is finding that Linux their support is sub-par. Even Dell and others are just farming support out to Red Hat. >

nfsv4-acls for cifs and nfsv4
hi there - is it possible to share a directory via samba and (kernel-)nfsv4 in parallel and make samba use (ie.: read, write and enforce) nfsv4 acls to implement winnt-acls? i know that using nfs3 and posix acls is working halfway okay, but couldn't find anything useful for nfsv4 and the associated acls - sorry if i missed something obvious. i played around with the nfs4acl_xattr and

NFSv4 on CentOS 4.5
Hi. I'm having trouble accessing a shared directory over NFSv4 on a CentOS 4.5 machine. My export file reads /test 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0(ro,async,insecure,nohide,no_subtree_check) Running the mount command with NFSv4 as the filesystem gives me a permission denied error. [root at pebble-anoop ~]# mount -v -t nfs4 pebble-anoop:/test/ /mnt/ mount: pinging: prog 100003 vers 4 prot tcp port

NFSv4 hangs on file open
Hi, I have a relatively loaded CentOS5 server (64-bit, dual core) and a mixed bag of Fedora 6/CentOS4, 32-, and 64-bit clients. NFSv3 works without problem. References over NFSv4 hang occasionally, in particular on file opening. I wonder whether there is anybody here who can help to trace it, or can suggest a more appropriate forum? The one hang that I have been able to trace involved

? NFSv4 and ZFS: removing write_owner attribute does not stop a user changing file group ownership

File permissions look as expected when I inspect them with ls -v and ls -V I only have owner and group ACLs...nothing for everyone. bash-3.00$ id uid=100(timt) gid=10001(ccbcadmins) bash-3.00$ groups ccbcadmins staff bash-3.00$ ls -v testacl -rwxrwx---+ 1 timt ccbcadmins 0 Jan 31 16:24 testacl

nfsv4 in centos?
Greetings Some time ago I briefly played with NFS. More recently with Samba. What I am wondering is if NFSv4 is already integrated into Centos 4 from upstream. Reference: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/6331/1/ if not, is there a timeline? Centos 5 ? and... is or can NFS be a compatible yet better replacement for Samba? thanks - rh -- Robert - Abba Communications
