smbd_smb2_request_incoming: client read error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_RESET
I'm running samba4 as an AD DC, built from git (built ~3 days ago), with about ~20 Windows 8 clients. I've noticed a number of errors in the logs, pasted below. That group of errors repeats pretty consistently for a lot of different client machines. Working Passwd Chat for Unix Password Sync on Redhat 6.1
I have been trying to get the password sync working for Redhat 6.1 (samba 2.05a rpm). I got the PDC working this morning, so I'm happy. The FAQ section on the samba site was very helpful. The password sync was the only sticking point. The default passwd chat script didn't work well passwd chat = *New*UNIX*password* %n\n *ReType*new*UNIX*password* %n\n *passw

samba4 AD DC & manually creating DNS records?
I'm trying to use a DNS server independent from Samba (non BIND, on a different machine/system). Beyond the two simple records of: SRV _ldap._tcp.samdom.example.com and SRV _kerberos._udp.samdom.example.com If I maintain all the A records for individual hosts (& the server.samdom.example.com machine), should that work? Are there any other special / SRV records that Samba4's

samba + unix passwd sync when using LDAP
Hi, I noticed that when using (on debian unstable, samba 3.0pre): passdb backend = ldapsam the "unix passwd sync" in no longer performed, even if "pam password change" is on. Is ther a way to keep the userPassword (samba), lmPassword(samba), ntPassword(samba) fields synchronized with smbpasswd? Thanks in advance, cheers, -- ldm@apartia.org

howto sync unix passwd & samba passwd?
Hi, I'm using samba-3.0.28-0.fc8. I'm trying to build a file server for 100 users. I created a perl script that automatically adds the 100 users plus their passwords with success. Now I'm having difficulty creating a script using the smbpasswd command because passwords must be entered in stdin. I also tried smbpasswd -s option but it asks passwd in stdin. Is there a way that I can use

Unix Password Sync -- Are Passwords Encryped?
Hello, For Unix Password Sync, I am curios how Samba can provide the passwd program with an unencrypted password. If a Windows user presses Control+Alt+Delete and changes their password, are the passwords sent over the network in plain text? Does Samba decrypt the password, then provide it to the passwd program? Thanks, Charles

unix password sync trouble
Hi, I'm having some trouble with my password databases. I'm using my self-made Linux installation (LFS, http://www.linuxfromscratch.com) and I'm trying to make it a Samba PDC. I'd like to keep both UNIX and SMB passwords synchronized. I managed to make passwd adapt both passwords (using some PAM-configuration). However, if I want to change my password using smbpasswd I get the

samba3-ldap and "unix password sync"
hi, in the beginning i want to say you that i have a working samba-ldap PDC (samba 3.0.2a, openldap 2.1.27, redhat linux 9, why redhat ? because slackware don't use pam and i didn't find a way to make samba-ldap work without pam). i want to make a synchronization between user password from samba (this is mail password, too. i use qmail-ldap) and user password from a database server
