ubuntu, ocfs2 with cman and ctdb
hi guys,
we're evaluating the available clustering options to get ctdb up and running
for a highly available file server.
we've set up both gluster and ocfs2 both on seperate 2 node setups.
ocfs2 seems to provide better throughput and iops to samba clients than does
gluster and that is comparing a single node server to a ctdb clustered 2
node server.
problem with ocfs2 is that i've

R 2.11.0 for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx on CRAN
Dear Ubunutu R users,
Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R
2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be
on or arriving soon to your favorite mirror. R 2.11.0 packages also
exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy.
As Johannes Ranke pointed out for the Debian release, R packages
installed under R < 2.10.0

[LLVMdev] Inline asm call argument mismatch?
Hello,
In the following code snippet:
%tmp49 = call i64 asm "movq %gs:${1:P},$0", "=r,im,,~{fpsr},~{flags}"(i64*
@kernel_stack) #6, !dbg !6625, !srcloc !5841
I would expect for the inline asm call to receive two arguments because of
the ${1:P} corresponding to a %P1 that will append the $1 to %%gs:.
Can someone explain why there is only one argument in this call?
Moreover,

A visual basic 6 program using html help
I am trying to get a program that I wrote working on Ubunutu Feisty
using wine. My program is written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and uses
HTML help to deliver its help messages. So far everything work fine
except the HTML help. When the user clicks on a control that is
intended to bring up the help browser, nothing happens. In the visual
basic program the call is something like this:

rank function and NA in 2.3.1
Hi.
I am using R 2.3.1 on WIndows XP, and I am having trouble with the rank
function in the presence of numerical NA data. I want the NA's all to get
the same rank, but they don't. Here is an example from my session:

Getting confused with two versions of R
Hi there, I used to run R 2.10 on Ubunutu 10.04, and tried to install R 2.11 from the source at the same time.It seems that doing the second installation, I have messed up with some files or system paths, resulting in not being able to use either version of R on my system.
I get the following message in terminal, whenever I try to run R now:
/usr/local/bin/R: line 227:

Ubuntu 8.04 breaks samba file locking
Just upgraded Saturday from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04.01. File locking in Samba is now
broken, meaning two different users can have the same file open at the same time
and edit it.
Server is RedHat 9.0 running Samba 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix. This has been
working well for us for several years. Have one WinXP box accessing the server
using OOo 2.0. Have another couple of Win95 boxes.

I've battled with this now for a good many hours, and I was wondering if
someone could point in the right direction. What I want to do is with

resulting in the file test.ll

Rails 1.1 and Ruby 1.8.3
I''ve seen that Rails 1.1 is not reliable with Ruby 1.8.2 so you should
upgrade to 1.8.4
I''m running ruby 1.8.3. What''s the story with it? Do I need to
upgrade before I try Rails 1.1?
Thanks
