Install Exchange 2013 with Samba ADC
Hello.
I'm trying to install Exchange 2013 (SP1 CU5) on a domain with only a
Samba ADC (because I've had many problems trying to get OpenChange to
work with Outlook 2013.) I've already hacked the attributes of the ADC's
LDAP entry so Exchange is happy with the OS version (see my previous
post,) but I want to find out if there are any known problems with
letting Exchange make

SAMBA 4 acting as Domain Server- Is Exchange 2010 capable of being installed?
Hello.
I just ran into this issue myself (with Exchange 2013) and found out how
to solve it, so I'm trying to reply to this thread to help anyone else
who is looking.
Use an LDAP editor (I use Apache Directory Studio) to edit the entry for
the computer account of your (master) Samba domain controller. It has a
DN of the form:
CN=<computer name>,OU=Domain

Problem building libFLAC on Windows x64
Hello everyone.
Due to problems with libsndfile's handling of FLAC files, Mixxx is
going to use libFLAC directly in v1.9.0. I'm the Windows packager and
am trying to build libFLAC on Windows x64 using MSVC 2008 and the
following steps that I've put together:
http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac
The problems I have are the following:

Samba4 Disable USB ports
Hello Gabriel,
I recommend you use
gpupdate /force
on the windows command line after login.
The results of above command can be checked afterwards with the
"gpresults" command.
Can be you have an permission problem on your samba server. Only skimmed
ofver the thread but did you try
samba-tools ntacl sysvolreset
on your samba server?

Git branch with compiling fixes for win32
Not sure if the patches you already have address this, but here are some
hacks I collected to try to get libFLAC to build on Windows for Mixxx:
http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac
I have never actually gotten it to build on x64 and right now just use
OpenCodecs' distribution (also mentioned at that link) which has Visual
Studio files that build fine for me.

Good morning everyone,
Gabriel: I haven't had a chance to test this yet, but I'm also needing the
same IE: Domain Users to have the GPO applied. Did you come right with this?
Andrey: Thank you for letting me know about the SysVol replication across
DC's, I haven't enabled this yet and will be doing so, is there anything I
should watch out for? I'll just be using the "

Samba4 AD/DC Replication
Hi folks!
I'm having some trouble replicating a domain.
I followed the steps in this guide:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
I followed the steps and everything worked fine for me.
but...
If I make changes on the PDC, these changes are replicated to the Secondary
DC, but if I make changes to the Secondary, these are not seen in the PDC.
Is there any way

sysvol /etc /private replication/backup via git
Hello List,
we have a running (test) AD samba4 system running successful for several month. We are now trying to add more DCs to the mix
and have a proper backup/desaster recovery strategy.
Basically I wan't to adapt the samba_backup script found in the sources to backup everything via git into our repository. I understand that the best solution would be to tar everything before commit.

question about sysvol replication
Hi,
I've created an Active Directory domain with 2 samba 4 running in
debian (I'm using the latest 4.1.x sernet packages).
Everything is running perfectly but I've found that I also have to
configure sysvol replication (that I didn't), looking at
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/SysVol_Replication I've found this
statement:
... for rsync-based SysVol replicaton, you have to

sysvol replication and posix uid / gid mapping
Hi,
I just found out the hard way that sysvol replication with rsync stoped
working when I activated winbind (libnss-winbind actually) on my primary
AD DC.
Originally I hadn't planed to activate winbind on the primary AD DC
since that machine was not meant to provide any shares.
What I hadn't thought of was the fact that GPOs reside as files on the
sysvol share and thus are subject

Problems in applying GPO and DNS domain name resolution issues
Hi,
We are using Samba AD 4.6.3 and built it from source on CentOS 7. The
DNS back end is BIND 9.9.4
Initially all replications were working fine and all group policies were
getting applied.
All of a sudden, we are finding that GPO applying process is erratic.
Sometime it applies and sometimes not. We have edited the Default Policy
using Windows RAST tool.

Existing files don't show up in share, new files do
I am suddenly no longer able to see any existing files on one of my
shares, from my Windows clients.
I have a Linux server (Fedora Core 8) which used to be my firewall and
router as well as file and print server. There are two Samba shares on
it I have mounted on various Windows clients: my home directory and a
multimedia directory with my music and videos, etc. I mount the former
as H: on all my
