DNS server with MySQL Backend
Just a quick question, Does anybody know of a good DNS server with MySQL backend? We're currently looking at MyDNS. Has anybody had any experience with MyDNS or other MySQL driven DNS servers under heavy load? Also, can anybody recommend a good DNS benchmarking utility? Thanks for your help, Bob. SELinux errors on my CentOS 5.3 (32 bit) Desktop after upgrade from 5.2
I am running SELinux in Permissive mode. GNOME and KDE are installed. Following the upgrade from CentOS 5.2 to 5.3 (32 bit) I am getting SELinux messages. Possibly of interest to someone here or upstream? (Since I'm using Permissive mode, this is not a problem for me). If these are known issues, please disregard. Messages follow: (1) SELinux is preventing nm-system-setti (system_dbusd_t)

Authenticate Postfix through Dovecot with slightly different LDAP settings
Hi, I'm setting up a server with Dovecot (2.2.2) and Postfix (3.1.0). Dovecot authenticates against LDAP and Postfix uses Dovecots SASL. That already works fine. But I would like to have slightly different LDAP settings for Dovecot and Postfix. Current setup: passdb { driver = ldap args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf.ext } userdb { driver = ldap args =

Defining "trusted" hosts/nets on a single interface system
Ok, I give up. I tried, really hard, before asking but I must be the most stupid shorewall user on the planet :( My laptop runs a single eth0 interface and knows Net and Firewall as zones and the default "inbound" policies are Net->Any DROP and >ny->Any REJECT. Now at home I have my trusted 192.168.174.240/29 subnet which hosts my very trusted 192.168.174.242 host and I

Database-conversion
Dear R-Users, I store my data in an Postgres-table. I can connect with Rdbi.PgSQL, that is no the problem. The problem is the NA-Values. No-data-values are coded as -9999 in the table. But when I extrct them with any SELECT-statement, the -9999-values are treated as normal vectors. How can I tell R not to fetch the datasets containig -9999-values? thanks for your help stephan -- Linux: the

ldbrename strangeness
Hi folks, I'm currently playing with a samba 4.1.17 test domain. The classic update left me with the usernames as cn. I would like to change the cn to the full name of the users. Doing it by hand is no problem: ldbrename -H /path/to/sam.ldb "cn=username,ou=users,dc=xxx,dc=yyy,dc=de" "cn=Full Name,ou=users,dc=xxx.dc=yyy,dc=de" Works like a charm. So I generated a

Mail delivery failing with 450
I'm not sure why this started, but apparently I'm having a DNS problem. Yesterday mail started bouncing with this error: 450 Unable to find obrien-pifer.com I think the messages eventually get delivered, but not sure. I guess I'll see if this one makes the list. I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a couple warnings. One is that there's no MX

store variables in a for loop using get()
Dear R list, I have a problem in assigning values to existing data frames in R. I have a vector x containing the names of the data frames, which I create to store the results for each variable (a1,a2,a3) obtained in time series moving regressions. Thus, say, x=c('a1','a2','a3') Moreover, b is a vector containig unique dates of the points in time of the moving
