Public mailboxes configuration to receive mails
Hello, I would like to know how to use Public mailboxes in my Dovecot environment (dovecot 1.2.beta4) Currently my dovecot server is only used for mailbox user. The Postfix master.cf is configured with the following line: "dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=vmail:vmail argv=/usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver -d ${user}" Both dovecot and postfix use

LDA ignored
Hi, my final goal is it to make use Dovecot's sieve modul - but unfortunately I'm not getting the LDA running as it is described in the Dovecot's wiki pages ... ;/ I've more and more getting the feeling that the LDA section in the configuration is completely ignored, cause whatever change I do in there is not being recognized at all - I could just type wildly arround in there

High CPU Load samba 4.1.12 possibly because of Notify Request problem
Hi List, I recently upgraded one of our high-volume SMB servers from samba 3.x to samba 4.1.12 (also changing the OS). Now I have a strange problem. The CPU load on the server is very high, processes that are causing it are nslcd or since I changed to it sssd and the smbd processes themselves. ? Top looks like this: --------------------------------- PID USER????? PR? NI? VIRT? RES? SHR S

Signal 11 - can't get core dump?
Hi all, We have been running Dovecot for over a year now in our moderate volume mail environment (>4000 mailboxes) and it's been running great. However, over the past month or so we've begun to experience issues where IMAP clients will appear to "hang" for a period of time, we then see a sig 11, and afterwards mailflow returns to normal. This usually happens a few times a

trash plugin not doing it's job
I enabled the trash plugin yesterday, adding "trash" to mail_plugins, and configuring the plugin setting "trash = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-trash.conf.ext". But I still see users with lots of files in INBOX.Trash getting bounced because of quota exceeded: postfix/lmtp[26273]:: C89F490061: to=<XXXXXXXXXXXXX at example.no>, relay=loadbalancers.example.net[192.168.42.15]:24,

smbd running multiple times
Dear "someone who can help", I am having a problem with SAMBA and SWAT (although I'm not sure SWAT is part of the problem...) I get two instances of "smbd" when ever it is started on this system. From SWAT I can only stop it ONE time. After that, each time I attempt to stop the SMBD daemon from SWAT it simply starts TWO more instances of the daemon (or something

Swap memory: I can't reconcile this stuff.
I need to look more into it, but before I start the long and arduous "googling my life away" process, I figured someone might know the answer. I've read the man pages several times and they didn't change! :-( As normal, while looking at one thing, something else bites my butt. I tuned on the swap field in top and sort on it. Here's an edited snippet of the results. Mem:

SSH/v1 dead processes bug
Should I submit this as a proper bug, or will someone look at it? Basically, between 4.7-REL and 4.8-REL ssh was upgraded and now exhibits the following bug. If you connect with protocol v1 you get three ssh processes, one of which never dies, even after the ssh session has been closed. % ps aux | grep ssh root 219 0.0 0.0 4076 0 ?? batch encode broken oggenc rc3
...even worse, it *appears* to work, and produces crap files. When specifying a -b <foo> option for a batch encode, -b <foo> is only obeyed for the first file. All subsequent files encode with the equivalent of -b 0 (despite the chatty text output claiming otherwise) resulting in overly low bitrates that sound like shit. I don't know if this affects -q as well, but it a safe

1.4 memory leak?
Is there a memory leak in asterisk 1.4? The other day with asterisk 1.4.0 I noticed that top was reporting a RES of 106 meg for the asterisk process. Restarting the process brought it down to more like 4 meg, but it grew over time to be 20+. So yesterday morning I upgraded to 1.4.4 in case this is something that had been addressed. Again I started with a RES of like 4meg or so, but this

CentOS 5: comment swap in fstab
I'm not sure what gave me this idea, but I decided to comment out the swap partition in /etc/fstab and reboot my laptop. I did not run swapoff directly at any time. I'm running more things now than I would ever dream of to hammer my 500MB of memory, but I still notice NO slowdown. This is the best desktop experience I've ever had for any OS on any hardware!
