Hi,
My end goal is to set up shared mailboxes on a cluster as per:
https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/ClusterSetup
I was having very little luck with it, so I had been trying to break
down into pieces and get individual components working. So I have
things setup on a single server, with a working dovecot instance. I
have no director or any thing else running yet, and I am just trying

sieve vacation
Hello,
I set up pigeonhole on a server and am using roundcube's sieverules to
create a set of rules. When using the vacation feature, I can see in
the logs that dovecot is sending the vacation response, but the
recipient never receives it.
What method does dovecot use to send the response? Does it use the
sendmail binary, does it use the mail command, does it connect to some
smtp server

lda and home directory
Hello,
I am using qmail and lda configured such that lda should not have to do
a lookup for delivery. I set my defaultdelivery like so:
|HOME=/home/mail/$USER /var/qmail/bin/preline
-f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda
Given that the email address being delivered to is
bob.miller at computerisms.com, I expect $USER to be equal to bob.miller
and $HOME to expand to /home/mail/bob.miller/.

freebsd - duplicate folders but one is not accessible
Hello List,
I got called by a colleague last Friday to take a look at samba on an
existing
unix box, which turned out to be freebsd. Somehow I have managed to
make it past a decade of computing without seeing freebsd. while it is
different, it is not significantly so...
This box was built by a gentleman who is not longer with the company
that owns it. As best as I can tell, the windows

outlook 2013
I am trying really hard to wrap my head around why people insist on
using this program...
Where I have outlook 2013 users, I have had nothing but problems getting
their mail to work with imap. my solution has been to set them up with
pop, which works just like it always has. Or move them to a different
program.
recently, I have a customer who requires multiple machines, all using

ctdb vacuum timeouts and record locks
Hi,
This occurred again this morning, when the user reported the problem, I
found in the ctdb logs that vacuuming has been going on since last
night. The need to fix it was urgent (when isn't it?) so I didn't have
time to poke around for clues, but immediately restarted the lxc
container. But this time it wouldn't restart, which I had time to trace
to a hung smbd process, and

Panic: file dict-fs.c:
Hi,
Am I doing something wrong here, or is this an actual problem?
I am trying to get the top level of a public Mailbox to be an actual
mailbox, instead of just storing subfolders. I get what looks to be an
identical error when running doveadm acl recalc as well
doveadm acl debug Departments2/IT
doveadm(root): Info: Mailbox 'IT' is in namespace 'Departments2/'

tracking user activity - Active Directory
Hello,
Some mischief happened and I have been asked if I can find out who was
logged into their computers within a specific off-hours time frame. My
logs for that time frame happened to be running at debug level 3, so I
have been looking through them and trying to figure out how to recognize
a workstation login. I find lines beginning with
auth_check_password_send that seem like reasonably good

ctdb vacuum timeouts and record locks
Hi List,
I set up a ctdb cluster a couple months back. Things seemed pretty
solid for the first 2-3 weeks, but then I started getting reports of
people not being able to access files, or some times directories. It
has taken me a while to figure some stuff out, but it seems the common
denominator to this happening is vacuuming timeouts for locking.tdb in
the ctdb log, which might go on

hung disk sleep process
Hi,
I have a problem, but am not really sure the question I need to ask. So
going to lay it all down and maybe someone can point me in the right
direction...
I have a replicated gluster volume across two servers. Each server has
its OS installed on an SSD, and a RAID array is mounted on each server
as a brick. Both servers run a Samba AD, among other things, and an LXC
container for a

problem with dovecot and sieve
Hi
We've been using dovecot with great success so far. We are trying to
add sieve support for our users.
We enabled managesieve and users can define rules from the webmail
(roundcube) with sieverules plugin for roundcube.
Everything goes ok, but here's a problem I couldn't figure yet.
When I define a redirect rule, the mail is forwarded but a local copy
is stored too. Weird thing is

winbind and group permissions
Hello,
I have spent the last week and a bit searching google and reading
documentation trying to get this figured. At this point, I have read
the same things so many times, I am not even sure I would notice the
answer any more.... time to ask for some help.
Having gone through what seems like hundreds of posts, I have begun to
see where the problem gets lost in the information provided when

Smartsieve patch on Dovecot wiki?
I am attempting to get smartsieve 1.0 RC2 working with our test install
of dovecot, but can not locate the Managesieve.php fix listed on the
ManageSieve page:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/ManageSieve/Clients
Does anyone know of another location to get this fix? I've googled
around, but not found an alternate location.
We're running:
