Realtek 8111GR on C7
Realtek is "real" good about getting drivers for their chips into the kernels as soon as possible. They are one of the few vendors that I have never had a problem with built in support... Mike McCarthy On 06/03/2016 08:03 AM, Phil Manuel wrote: > You can get the Linux driver from >

FW: Boot Error" on random machines
So I recently developed a collection of bash scripts to run QC programs on the computer my company sells to customers before they ship out. Originally they would run off live cds, but we just made the switch to Live USB sticks for more automation and the benefits of persistence. Right now each of these sticks has syslinux 3.71 installed, and boots up into a custom debian system to auto-run the qc

Asus A7V600 (3C940 1gb) + Oopsing kernel with PXELINUX
Hi! We (an astronomical center) are building a small cluster for our number-crunching. The problem is that we have 12 mobos A7V600 by Asus (for athlons) - 1 server + 11 diskless nodes. And here comes the trouble... hardware: mobo: a7v600 net: 1 gigabit by 3com - 3c940, integrated in mobo the problem is: dhcp - works fine tftp - works fine pxelinux.0 - downloads fine (I hope) linux kernel -

any VT-d enabled mobos for Xeon 5000 series out there ?
Hi list, i have seen a lot of questions about VT-d on recent intel mobos. however, it seems that all tests are done on the newer socket 775-based xeon''s or core2''s, and not the 5000 series (socket 771 based). i was planning on getting a intel S5000V chipset, but found out that it does not support VT-d. Can anyone confirm a mobo that has this enabled and also has 2x LGA771

Update to 1503 release problem
Hi there, Yesterday I've updated from 7 to 7.1 and today I've noticed on 2 server that postgresql systemd file was replaced with default values. This make postgres to no start and webserver give me problem. This problem was fixed and now all works good. It's normal that on major update I can get this problem? If so, I've ridden release change but I have not ridden about

ASUS M2V mobo issues
We have 4 systems supported by ASUS M2V mobos with AMD2 cpus on board. No we haven't gotten CentOS of any flavor to work yet. Yes, we did load Fedora Core 6 and it worked, with respect to the SATA driver only. There is a RAID, Audio and LAN driver for Linux that comes on the M2V mobo CD. The audio driver installs and works fine on FC6. I've read many of the messages with respect to

supermicro with asterisk and tdm cards
Guys. Anybody using supermicro mobos and chassis with TDM cards? I would like to know which models are you using (mobos and chassis and also CPUs) and how many TDM cards have you been able to put in without having IRQ issues like in other cases. Ive read supermicro servers play nice with asterisk but it is always good to ask I guess. Thx! AK

TE210P mother board
Hi all, I'm going to configure a middle asterisk installation. I'll use a TE210P to connect a T1 channel bank and a PRI E1 line. I'm thinking on using a SuperMicro P8SCT Mother Board that has a 1x 64-bit 133MHz PCI-X 3.3V. In TE210P documentation I've read: The TE210P is a 32-bit 33MHz card keyed for 3.3 volt operation. Can SuperMicro slot (that is a 133Mhz slot) be used

Update to 1503 release problem
Hi list, the update has modified /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/postgresql.service pointing to /usr/lib/systemd/system/postgresql.service. I have edited postgres file to change PGDATA. How James says, I have edited postgresql.service manually. What is the correct way? Thanks in advance. On 04/15/2015 07:14 PM, James Hogarth wrote: > On 15 Apr 2015 13:22, "Dennis

Update to 1503 release problem
From freedesktop.org: Q: I want to change a service file, but rpm keeps overwriting it in /usr/lib/systemd/system all the time, how should I handle this? A: The recommended way is to copy the service file from /usr/lib/systemd/system to /etc/systemd/system and edit it there. The latter directory takes precedence over the former, and rpm will never overwrite it. If you want to use the

storage servers crashing, hair being pulled out!
I have a trio of servers that like to reboot during high disk / network IO operations. They don't appear to panic, as I have kernel.panic = 0 in sysctl.conf. The syslog just shows normal messages, like samba complaining about browse master and then just syslogd starting up. The machines seem to crash when I'm not near the console, usually when I'm trying to pull data off them to

Windows Offline Folders
Am running Samba 2.2.7 on Red Hat 8.0 with Windows 2K clients patched to SP4 Creating off line folders works fine but if any file is modified off line and then sync'd back when the laptop is reconnected to the network it comes back with an unable to connect - access denied message. But I can quite happily copy the files over manually. I have attached the log file (log level = 3) for the
