Anyone know of complete hardware solution based IDE Raid Controllers?
Years ago Accusys made an IDE raid controller that presented itself as one drive to the BIOS, making the unit completely OS agnostic. Anything like that out there, anymore? Cheers, Brett.

Tips for motherboard with multiple PCI / PCI-e slots
Hi, I need to fit at least three NICs and I was looking for motherboard models that contain 3 or 4 CPI (or PCI-e) slots and works with CentOS. I had a problem in the past with some models that had a bug and did not work well with linux (ok with windows) so that's way I am asking this here. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I want to purchase atleast one used quicknet card
If you have any quicknet cards you are not using, I may be interested in them. I'll discuss terms after I know what you have. For sake of high shipping costs, I'm not interested in overseas shipments to the United States (where I live). My best resources will be for those that have PCI PhoneJacks, or PCMCIA CardJacks. Please reply to my email address, and not the mailing list.

Re: I am unable to purchase games in steam
How do you install a game demo though? If you try purchase, it says it is not available for purchase, I've tried get, run, install ... none of which do anything.

couple questions about supported UPSes and politics of purchase
a customer of mine needs a UPS capable of supporting a small server in his office. Obviously, nut is a good thing for him for clean shutdown etc. especially with the crappy quality power in his office condo. I wanted to purchase an MGE UPS but it looks like they purchased APC and are now flogging that product line. Now, I've never been happy with APC. I have an APC 3000 (sans

How to purchase R on CD
My organization has a policy against "installing software downloaded from the Internet." There is a waiver procedure, but it is difficult and lengthy. It is much easier to get approval to purchase software, even if it is a CD copy of open-source. However, a search on r-project.org didn't seem to show any way of obtaining the distribution in this way. Any clues would be

ZFS Hardware Check, OS X Compatibility, NEWBIE!!
This is my first post here, and i hope it is ok that i posted in this thread. I have been doing a bit of reading on the solaris platforms, and seem to be inclined to try out the open solaris os or solaris 10. My only worry is that my lack of knowledge with the command line may make this difficult regarding trouble shooting. It seems fairly straighforward creating zpools etc, but maybe nexenta is

Where to purchase ISDN (BRI) cards in Australia (preferably)
Hello all, I was wondering if anybody knows where one might obtain a PCI ISDN card supporting a single BRI for use with Asterisk in Australia (and using something like chan_capi). Because of the Isdn4Linux DTMF issue, I don't want one of those cards. I've already spent too much time messing about with my current card. I'm after something like the AVM Fritz! cards. I found one place

R question type in Moodle
Moodle (www.moodle.org) is an open source course management system, a competitor to Blackboard. I am writing several hundred R questions that will be used within the quiz module in Moodle. Unfortunately, Moodle does not have a built in question type for R. You can read about the different questions types in Moodle here:

considering purchasing a t1 card, any recommendations?
I have been looking at the rhino r1t1, and digium single t1, and the sangoma, but from what i read they all sound like good products. Anyone have anything bad about any one of them? I am leaning towards the sangoma as it seems to have a better following here on the lists. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Purchasing a Sangoma A102 - should I get the hw echo cancellation or not?
Shortly, I'll be purchasing a Sangoma A102. I'm wondering if I should spring for the hardware echo cancellation circuit or not. Upon initial implementation, the 2 T1 Ports will be used as a passthrough as we slowly transition off of a legacy PBX. Eventually, we'll only be using one of the ports, and will be providing VoIP service to a bunch of SIP deskphones. So - with that usage
