NM on a server?
Is there any point in running NetworkManager on a server?
The IP addresses of the two server NICS are fixed
(192.168.1.2 and 192.168.2.2 .)
I'm not clear if it is necessary in some way
to run NM on a CentOS system?

nm-applet with wlan0 in CentOS 5.4
Hello all,
I would like to find a soluce fo a very annoying problem I have since
I've installed CentOS 5 on my Lenovo R60 Laptop...
Everything works correctly excepted a small thing, the nm-applet of
NetworkManager-gnome always report my wlan0 in error status, even when
my wifi network is connected correctly and working without problem...
It behaves as if wlanx intefaces were not recognized

Actual complaining: nixspam
John accused me of complaining about systemd... this here's *real*
complaining.
Several times every month, my email starts getting bounced by freakin'
nixspam, because my giant hosting provider, that hosts millions of
domains. Akemi has argued that nixspam works just fine (if so, then why
did we get that spam a few weeks ago?).
I've politely requested being put on a whitelist, and

[PATCH 4/4] p2v: add -x option to nm-online
On distros not running NetworkManager, use the nm-online -x parameter
to exit quickly. The network connection will be checked just after
anyway when attempting to connect to the conversion server using ssh.

CentOS 7, NetworkMangler, and ipv6
We've started having a problem with a CentOS 7 server. It looses its IPv6
address, if I understand this issue correctly. We can get in, if we do ssh
-4, though.
In the logs, I'm seeing this about twice an hour:
<warn> (pid 98466) unhandled DHCP event for interface ens3f0
Now, in googling, I get very few hits putting quotes around "unhanded dhcp
exception" - in fact, the

DHCP timeout and mysteriously dropping IP address
Hi everyone,
I'me having trouble with a CentOS 7 guest running on a Hyper-V host. For
some reason, the CentOS guest randomly drops its IP address. Running
"systemctl restart NetworkManager" on the console will restore IP
connectivity without a reboot. I think that DHCP is timing out, but I'm not
sure what to do about it. Is there a way to tell NetworkManager to keep
trying after

CentOS 7, NM, and IPv6
Hi, folks,
I and the other admin here have just been assigned a mission... here's
what's happening: only very recently - the last week? our CentOS 7
boxes, or at least some of them, will lose their IPv6 addresses, and
not get it back.
   1. We're running dibbler on the same box that serves DHCP.
   2. It's been working for many months.
   3. The lease file remains in place.

Troubles with NetworkManager
NetworkManager used to work fine for me but during the last few
installations its a big hurdle in the wireless connectivity.
I'm using Madwifi and its interface is correctly listed and working but I
cannot connect to any wifi AP without NetworkManager. I've two interfaces:
eth0 and wifi0. Starting NetworkManager doesn't show any notification icon
in the top right in gnome and I believe

Sampling encoder timings between libtheora-1.0 & libtheora-1.1beta3
As requested by Ralph in my introduction e-mail to this list [1], I've
gone ahead and done some sample test timings for encoding between
libtheora-1.0 and libtheora-1.1beta3, as available from the Theora
website [2].
So far, I've tested with 4 different files that I generated with content
I already have. The files, in brief, are the following:

Fwd: centos Wireless - Broadcom BCM4313
Dear All,
I'm trying to configure wireless card on a Dell Vostro 1540.
I had a look at this site : http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Wireless/Broadcom?action=show
wireless card :# /sbin/lspci | grep Broadcom

I decided to follow the ELrepo instructions suggested on the site :

fts squat non-english search for 2 words
Hello,
It looks I encoutered a bug or misconfiguration. fts_squat search for subject and body works excellent for English mails. For non-English (in particular, Russian) it works only when query consists of 1 word. Phrases - 2 and more words - always returns nothing. Example: search for "planet" ("???????") returns results, search for "Earth" ("?????") also

Haegemonia (Hegemonia) and shiny surfaces? Effects missing?
Hello! :)
Explanation of the problem:
For several years now it is impossible to render "shiny" (glossy, vertex shaders), effects on ships, planets and generally metallic surfaces in Haegemonia. The problem is that newer graphics drivers on Windows systems changed/lack a feature the game exploited to get these effects. Way back when I was mailing the developers of the game, I was told
