Another odd postfix issue related to 4.4 update
Postfix appears to be running normally and is accepting/receiving mail as usual, but... I'm seeing lines like this in the message log: Sep 1 06:55:23 fender postfix/smtpd[11969]: sql_select option missing Sep 1 06:55:23 fender postfix/smtpd[11969]: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available Those seem to be sasl related, right? I'm not using sasl support (yet). Any clues to this

quickstart
I have the Asterisk book, it's enormous, the 4th edition as per http://www.asteriskdocs.org/. I'd like to do something like: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+quickstart just to have two hardphones act as extensions and call each other. Is that a reasonable first task? I'm looking for the simplest litmus test for functionality possible. thanks, Thufir

PDC problems
We have really enjoyed our first couple of weeks using samba2.2.2 as our PDC but the past couple of days have been a nightmare the server out of nowhere stopped letting people log in. We recieved an error message that said "Device is not installed on this network." Now we were able to get rid of the problem and at first were not sure how but, a couple of days later it happened again but

Bind Samba4 services on different IPs?
Can you bind the various samba services on different IPs? For example: Bind the DNS on 127.0.0.2 and everything else on 127.0.0.1/LAN IP? Seems to me that the interfaces command is all or nothing. Thanks, Greg

Hi, I'm a complete newbie to Asterisk and have been reading through documentation and sites for the last couple of hours trying to understand what to do to start my learning curve with Asterisk, and am very confused. For starters, what is the difference btwn the 1.2 and 1.4 branches of Asterisk? I can't seem to find a document that describes the changes. Secondly, what is the best

Does "active directory" support include policy support
Well, a rather odd subject, but I couldn't really express it differently. I would simply like to know if the active directory "emulation" of samba+openLDAP+kerberos or samba 3.0 includes support for policies. I have a bunch of XP clients that I need to set some restrictions on. But it seems the days of config.pol files are over, so i need active directory support on my PDC.
