of my smb.conf:

Developed an issue with Samba File Server integrated with Samba-AD
Hi,
We have been using Samba File Server (Version 4.3.11 Ubuntu 14.04 LTS)
for quite sometime now. We recently installed Samba-AD (Samba AD Version
4.7.6) and made the file server a member of the Domain. Everything was
fine till around 11:15 am yesterday. We just added one more share folder
and gave access to three users and restarted Samba File Server services
- smbd, nmbd and winbindd -

Share mappings with error 85
Hi, all.
I have just installed a Samba AD-DC, with a file server. I know that this
is not ideal, but this is what I could do now.
I have many shares and now, with windows 10 clients I face a problem: the
first time the user logs in, all maps work. From this point ahea, no more
mappings and the error 85, which informs that the drive letter has already
been used.
The mappings are in a logon.bat

Do I need Winbind?
With a recent upgrade to Centos 4.6 my system's Samba was also upgraded
to 3.0.25b. But now I get a series of
auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(792) and
auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_users(758) errors every day.
As I understand it winbind allows users to be logged in as Linux users
when they log in as Windows users. But since I don't want them to have
access to the

winbind problems
I had to move an existing member server to new hardware. Using getent
on this Debian Jessie system, I cannot get winbind to retrieve the
domain users, except for administrator, guest, tsinternetuser, and krbtgt.
Although none of my other working systems have it, I added the
"dedicated keytab", "kerberos method", and "winbind refresh tickets"
parameters to match

Samba VFS recyclebin hide
Hi Guys & Girls,
Samba VFS Recyclebin is a brilliant feature but I need to figure a way to
make it non-visible to end users as often files deleted are done so
maliciously.
The VFS module defaulty places the Recyclebin directory in the of whichever
share it is active on, Ive tried a couple of ways to hide it but none
successful.

VFS Objects Recycle questions
I have a need to setup the recycle vfs object on our server.
On my test server, I have all of the shares on a single drive and have put
the following into each share:
vfs_objects = recycle
recycle:repository = [Actual Path and Partition that the share is located]
recycle:directory_mode = 770
recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:touch_mtime = Yes
recycle:versions = Yes
It works like a charm. All

Setting up new Samba domain (again)
Hi!
I'm trying to get a Samba-based domain working properly. I'm using an
LDAP backend. Right now all the users have been created, and machine
accounts as well - but some things at the domain level aren't 100%.
Adding new machines usually results in a error, which I get around and
then have it working - but I continue to see error messages in the
logs. I'm assuming

Vista Issues with samba
We have Samba setup for our shared drive. I have pasted the smb.conf file
below. Everything is working well accept when we try and run an EXE file
using Windows Vista. When we run an EXE file it first ask for UAC control
then it pops up the username and password prompt. You must then type your
username and password in again before it will run.
I think the issues is that UAC is now running the

Scenario with CIFS
Hi all!
I'm trying to get samba working with CIFS, mounting a share on a client and
keeping the original file/dir permissions. The problem is that after I
(successfully) mount that share by CIFS, I can't write anything in it,
because I get a 'Permission denied' error. smbd version is 6.3.6.
My testparm is:
root at samba:~# testparm
