What's the status of DFS support in Samba4? Using Win7 and smbclient and Linux I'm getting generic error messages related to not being able to access the DFS. This similar config is working in Samba v. 3.5.6. I spent some time Googling and didn't find much. I did find one page that suggested Samba4 DFS support may be limited only to the sysvol and netlogon shares at this time.

Has anyone tried DFS Client SW on a Win 95 machine and then tried to mount the usual samba drives? All I get is a login request that gets refused even with known, correct, credentials. Its appears just the same as the problem we got after installing SP3 on an NT4 machine before changing the registry. Hello, We previously had Win2008 R2 DCs which we have begun to replace with Win2012 servers (forest is still at 2008 level however). I was able to query DFS via rpcclient but now I find that I am unable to. I know that SMB3 was introduced in Win2012 but I believe that it should auto-negotiate earlier versions.
