Splitting a DF into rows according to a column
Hi, I'm turning my wheels on this and keep coming around to the same wrong solution - please have a look and give a hand ... The premise is: a DF like so > loremIpsum <- "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Quisque leo ipsum, ultricies scelerisque volutpat non, volutpat et nulla. Curabitur consequat ullamcorper tellus id imperdiet. Duis semper malesuada

replace a few strings in a text file
Dear all, I wrote a wrapper to a FORTRAN program using R. The main program uses a text file (~200 lines) as an input describing the simulation to be run. I typically generate the file once with the right parameters using a combination of file(), paste(), cat(). This is fine, and it works well, however I then need to update only a few values in the file many times (~200 times,

Script.aculo.us Effects with callbacks not working as it should.
Hello all! I''m having a problem which is driving me insane. It''s probably related to the fact that I''m new to javascript.... :) Here''s the thing, I have a couple of effects which are all being put in the queue. Some of these effects have callbacks; e.g. "afterFinish". But the calback is being made directly instead of after the effect is done. The

Strange Bug - Dragging a sortable filled with sortable - the bigger one "stays"...
*** don''t know if i''ll be clear... if not, tell me Hi. http://favoris.lichenmedia.com/untitled.htm I don''t know why, but when I drag those sortables (tagged with the handle handle) filled with the sortables (the lists with lorem ipsum) The handled-one "stays" where you dropped them. When you drag the li between the uls that are the big containers, no

sync+Rnw+TeXShop, again
Hi All -- I'm not sure this is the natural place for this question, but this list is the place with the best Sweave-TeXShop-sync discussion so far. My problem is that sync+Sweave+TeXShop works sometimes and not others, and it's not consistent. The failure, in which sync from PDF opens the .tex file instead of the .Rnw file, always comes after a code chunk. If I start from a simple

Reading data from a text file conditionally skipping lines
Hi, It would be better to give an example. If your dataset is like the one attached: con<-file("Trial1.txt") ?Lines1<- readLines(con) ?close(con) #If the data you wanted to extract is numeric and the header and footer are characters, dat1<-read.table(text=Lines1[-grep("[A-Za-z]",Lines1)],sep="\t",header=FALSE) dat1 #?? omega: $field{sample} clarification
I'm using omega for a sitesearch and currently having a problem trying to filter $field(sample). At the moment it returns text from the page header and navigation within the sample, ideally I'd like it to return only the page content. I've been trying various omegascript commands to trim the output or seperate the fields and also looking at scriptindex to control how the xhtml is

Can we fix this in reviews.llvm.org's fork of phab? https://github.com/phacility/phabricator/blob/cac3dc4983c3671ba4ec841aac8efac10744a80c/src/applications/differential/conduit/DifferentialGetCommitMessageConduitAPIMethod.php Seems straightforward(-ish) to drop the relevant fields there, that way `arc land` automatically DTRT. Building a library system (ActiveRecord question)
I''m rebuilding a library/academic system (including public web) using excellent Rails. I''m trying to make the most out of ActiveRecord, but rethinking the database schema spawned some potential issues that may cause problems down the road, so I want thoughts on this from more experienced community. The thing is, all entities in the system have a fixed set of metadata. At

I also find the "Reviewed by" tag useful (as well as the review link), for the same reasons. In fact, I don't even use arcanist to push commits, so I do it all by hand, and only include the "Reviewed by" and "Differential Revision" tags.
