A device attached to the system is not functioning
Dear all,
I was looking a lot around of Internet, but still did not find some
solution for my problem.
I have SAMBA and domain with ldap, everything have been fine until today.
Like usually I did create new user in domain and tried to get into my
domain on Windows 7 and Windows XP machines.
Then I have got this error:
"A device attached to the system is not functioning"
I checked SAMBA

Fwd: Centos and logs
Hello,
may be anyone familiar with some tool for viewing logs.
I mean web-interface based, simple solution.
I have developers, and I can't give them access to my Centos servers, but
they want to see logs of Apache. I want to give them address like
172.17.17.21/logs and they will be able to watch logs of Apache in browser.
I was looking a lot for something like this, but didn't find.

Apply vector of labels to columns of data frame
Dear list members
I would like to apply a vector of labels
v=c("lab1","lab2","lab3")
to a dataframe
df=data.frame(1:3,1:3,1:3)
using some kind of loop or apply function.
Any ideas?
Thanks

graphic question
Hello,
I have a simple question that I could not really figure out. I am plotting labels within a graph using the text function. I first plot the first label by specifying the x and y coordinates on the graph. Then to plot the second label next to it, I am using te strwidth function to get the width of the previous label in user coordinate then add the maximum width to the x value. However, this

How to find all single minima, i.e. only each one within each next part of analyzed vector (table)
Dear R users,
How to find all single minima within each next part of analyzed vector (table)
Select all minima (mass_value=min & mass_value<2)
(many) in vector(table),
BUT first put mask on table in order to select
within one window mask (5 elements) only one local minimum, and next to search within
the next time window mask the second minimum (only one local along second mask)

tunnel device name acquisition?
Numerous how-tos all over the Internet show how one would set up
a tunnel using ssh, e.g.:
ssh -f -o Tunnel=ethernet <server_ip> true
I was wondering if there's a way to subsequently acquire the names
of the local and remote tun/tap interfaces (e.g., using the default
"-w any:any") for subsequent automatic tunnel configuration, e.g.:
ip link set $TapDev up
ip link set

[patch] RFC: put server tunnel name in environment
If an ssh server receives a tun/tap tunnel request and sets up the tunnel
concerned, as far as I can see there is currently no way for the server
to configure the tunnel in a manner dependent upon (e.g) the key used to
set up the ssh session. Whilst an id based on the key can be passed to
the ssh child process, where the tunnel is dynamically allocated, its
tunnel name is lost.

Tunneling as a non-root user
I?m setting up a Linux machine (CentOS7) and am trying to allow tap/tun tunneling.
Our organization?s security policy prohibits root logins.
Using OpenSSH server 7.4 (as provided by the CentOS repositories) non-root users are able to open tunnels as long as the sshd_config has The setting UsePrivilegeSeparation=no.
All is well, but I wonder what security risks I am taking by disabling the

Subset of Data
Hi Arun,
I have a question about choosing a subset of data.
I have a matrix of 5000 in 3500.
I want to choose specific variables such as proc1 to proc1000 and Lab1 to Lab1600 and put it into a new matrix to run some correlation analysis.
Since I have 3500 variables, I don't know from what column my lab or procedures start.
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks.

can't contact domain
Hello everyone,
Once again I'm trying to set up our Samba server to operate as a PDC, now
that I've verified that I have a clean install of the Samba 3
software. However there are some difficulties with this. On my client
machine when I try to set the domain name in the system control panel, I
get an error message saying that the domain could not be contacted. I've

Help needed: strange issue with share mapping at logon
Hello all,
I've run into an issue while migrating a client's Samba PDC from Debian
3.x to OpenSuSE 10.3, have been beating my head against it for over a
week, and am now turning to the mailing list for help.
We're running Samba 3.0.26a-3-1478-SUSE-SL10.3 authenticating against
OpenLDAP 2.3.37. Integration of Samba and OpenLDAP works, and importing

Newbie question
I'm trying to find a good open source software to do sales forecasting using Holt Winters and Box Jenkins time series algorithm. Somebody pointed me that R is the best open source available for statistical computing. Are there functions to do Holt Winters and Box Jenkins time series prediction in R? If there is none, can some one point me a good GNU/freeware to do the sales forecasting using

Fine.
Now, I would like to put the legend box on the outside of the plot itself,
perhaps in the lower
left hand corner.
