Dune 2000 - no keyboard response - good rendering speed
Hi,
I've installed Dune 2000 and the 1.06 patch in Wine, and it runs very well,
except that it doesn't accept keyboard input. It wasn't any better without the
patch. The entry at the appdb doesn't mention anything about it. Does anybody
know how to fix it?
I've already tried changing all the settings on the "graphics" tab
in "winecfg". Half-Life, for

plotting issues with PCA
Hi Listers,
This has a simple answer but it has been eluding me nonetheless.
I have been building a PCA plot from scratch with the ability to plot
predefined groups in different colors. This has worked fine but when I try
to get a polygon drawn around each of the groups it is not recognising my
colour file correctly and is only printing the first colour in the
file....code is below

Vegan: Diversity Plot, label points
Dear List,
I can'f figure how to add point labels in the next plot (example from
?taxondive help page):
library(vegan)
data(dune)
data(dune.taxon)
taxdis <- taxa2dist(dune.taxon, varstep=TRUE)
mod <- taxondive(dune, taxdis)
plot(mod)
The points in this plot are diversity values of single sites, and I'd
like to add a label to each one. The plot command don't accept a

adonis (vegan package) and subsetted factors
Hi,
I'm trying to use adonis on a subset of data from a dataframe. The
actual data is in columns 5:118, and the first four columns are various
factors. There are 3 levels of the factor Habitat, and I want to examine
differences among only two of them. So I started with:
> CoastNear = subset(gel_data, Habitat != "I")
The resulting data.frame has three levels for Habitat, but

Merging Documentation and Help pages
Hi,
Going over the wiki some more I noticed that the GettingHelp and
Documentation page contain the same type of information and could be
merged (and reduced) as well.
On the FrontPage it is called "Learn" (which I like) and
points to the Documentation page. On top it says "Help" and points to the
GettingHelp page.
I would prefer to keep the Documentation page (or rename

metaMDS
Hello R-user community,
I am applying the function metaMDS. However, I would like to know if there
is any option to export the data I got from the axis as a data frame.
I have tried as.data.frame.list but is not working. Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance for your help,

row.names in dunes and dunes.env?
Hello,
I've got a small dataset on box turtle shell measurements that I would like to perform a detrended correspondence analysis on. I thought that it would be interesting to examine the morphometrics for each species in the area of overlap and in areas where neither species occurs.
I've taken a look at the dune and dune.env datasets in vegan. Using the str() command gives me

envfit output (vegan package) - not sure what it means
I'm pretty new to R and would appreciate some help interpreting the output of
a function that was recommended to me.
I've used the *envfit *function in the vegan package to plot vectors of four
climate variables onto a species matrix ordination. The output indicates
that only a single variable (mean_temp) is significant:

How to combine/join/merge etc PCA and Cluster?
Hello everybody,
I Would like to get some help to plot together, Principal Components
Analysis (PCA) and clusters.
I am handling environmental data from 25 locations spread across 5
different ecosystems. When grouped into 5 clusters, locations from different
ecosystems are arranged in the same group.
So, I want to plot together PCA and Clusters, in a such way that locations

I have looked all over the internet for being able to color sites
differently in a plot of an MDS (metaMDS)- I would like to color the
different sites in the ordination plot (plot or ordiplot). I have set
the matrix up so that my site code is 1 .... 296 (first column). is
there a way to make 1-23 blue, 24-40 red etc.
thanks

Tools to take a kernel crash dump.
Hello Everyone,
We have noticed that one of our servers xen Dom0 is restarting
idiopathically. Atleast, we are not able to analyze the cause. I have
checked the logs but couldn''t find anything relating to it.
Are there any tools such as kdump (which doesn''t seem to work on xenified
kernels) for catching the kernel crash snapshot.

Plotting Ellipses and Points of Matching Colors in an Ordination
Hello, R-Help -
I am trying to plot the results of an ordination from package vegan. The
tricky part for me right now is getting the colors of the ellipses denoting
the 95% confidence intervals of the group centroids to match the colors of
the points for those same groups.

different colors for my different groups.

species projected in a ordiplot
Dear all,
I'm performing a detrended correspondence analysis on vascular plant
community data (296 species), and I have a question on the species scores
projected in the ordination diagram. When I run a ordiplot all species are
projected in the output graph, but I'd like to restrict the number of
species plotted in the final graph. Some species are so rare in the data,
that no relevant

Samba and RedHat 7.2
Well, I thought I was an "experience" samba user, but I've ran into
something I've never seen before:
All SAMBA protocols (smbd and nmbd) work fine on the "localhost", but do not
work from a remote system (NT or Linux). This includes "telnet server 139".
Basically, the telnet test works as one would expect from the localhost, but
not from any remote system.
