Also, don't forget the option I gave you Ralph, where you can have access to one of my VPSes. We can create a subdomain for free, but if you want something like nhw.com, you'd have to register the domain name yourself, which wouldn't cost too much money.... Then I can help configure it to point to your page on my VPS. I'll host it all for free. You'll have your own user

Shipping development files for mingw32
Hi, Is is possible to ship development files for MinGW32 like static libs and headers? I am particularly interested in libvorbisfile required to build Wesnoth on Windows. SDL2 provides a convenient distribution that I unpack and it works: https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/release/SDL2_mixer-devel-2.0.1-mingw.tar.gz https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/ But I can't find where I

[OT] Tidy of Wiki Sidebar
I have been tidying up bits of the Wiki. This one is not clear cut, so I decided to seek advice. Also, I wasn't sure where to post this question, so defaulted to ogg-dev. Should Speex and CMML be removed from the Wiki Sidebar at: https://wiki.xiph.org/MediaWiki:Sidebar ? Many thanks, Martin -- Martin J Leese E-mail: martin.leese stanfordalumni.org Web:

Hello Spork, Thank you very much for your great help! So ok, let's create a website for the NHW Project! Anyone who wants to help is very welcome! Do you want we start first with wix.com or rather from nearly scratch? I think from scratch would be better as we can really do what we want, but it will be a lot and lot more difficult to make... -I will send you a private email for the USB

NHW codec - progress 2
Hello, Just a quick message to correct what I have said in my previous post.It finally seems not that easy to code small wavelet coefficients to have a good precision, and SPIHT is certainly a very good algorithm for that, -and I know there are SPIHT experts that can make very good SPIHT-based codecs-.I have chosen a new and different approach, the multistage residual coding, so I will try to

NHW Project - high compression (-l6 setting and below)
Hello Spork, > If you want though, when I find some time, I can work on supporting a better command line parsing. Yes that would be great as my command line parsing is not good at all. > Does your codec compile under Linux? If not, that's something I can try to work on as well. I never tested my codec under Linux )-:, and so it would be also great to compile it under Linux.I think

NHW Project - high compression (-l6 setting and below)
Hello Ken, Many thanks for your reply! Yes, I very need to adapt the NHW codec to any image size. But actually it is the least interesting part, I don't think that it is that difficult (compared to creating high compression settings) but it is very boring, annoying... Really not the part that I prefer... For now, as I am jobless, my aim is to have "pleasure" with the NHW Project and

Question about changing default metric for codebooks

A lot of Open Source applications are currently using vorbis/libvorbis instead of opus. I don't see any signs of them being ported to opus. I'm working with several Open Source SDL2 programs now (updating, building, packaging, etc.) and they

NHW Project - lower quality settings
Hi David! Many thanks for your very encouraging and kind feedback!!! (Hope you don't mind that I made your post public on the Theora channel). I try to be the more sincere as I can in my posts. Some people suggested me to make demo pages to explain how the codec works step by step, and I realize that it would be good, because certainly it will show that the NHW codec is not that complex and

Standardization FLAC through IETF
Dear members of the flac-dev list, I'm writing to ask for feedback from the FLAC community regarding the possibility of standardizing the FLAC specification through the Internet Engineering Task Force. I'm working with MediaArea on the PREFORMA project which focuses on building conformance checkers for Matroska and FFV1. Since Matroska and FFV1 are not yet formally standardized, this

segfault calling SDL_Init with FFI/ MCJIT
I'm getting a segfault when I call `SDL_Init( SDL_INIT_VIDEO )` within the MCJIT.  If I compile the same program to an EXE I don't have a problem. Are there any general restrictions, or known issues, with loading a library like SDL2 via the MCJIT?  (LLVM-3.8 still) The stack trace, from GDB, is below. I noticed the error actually happens deep inside a transitively loaded GL drive module,

libtheora 1.1.1 release
All, I've made a follow up release in the 1.1.x series. This fixes some issues reported with last week's 1.1.0 release, and is mostly of interest to those building under MSVC. Changes: * Fix an error in the MSVC inline assembly, the "pink blocks" problem. * Don't use the ebx register in the MSVC asm because it's used by the compiler in some optimization modes. *
