gplpv driver correctly supports 9GB RAM in Windows 32bit?
Hello I have Debian Linux 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 Xen 4.0.1, 2 SAS drives in RAID 1, 16GB ram. I have virtualized Windows 2003R2 32bit where you install the latest version 0.11.0.295 gplpv After reading and reading forums and post testing, I noticed that the hard disk performance drops significantly when I assign the windows domU 9GB ram. "Boot loader did not return any data" to make HVM to PV
Hello I''m trying to convert a HVM to PV dom0. The domU is a 10SP2 SLED ( Kernel 2.6.16.60-0.21 i386) and is a SLES11SP2 dom0 (Kernel 3.0.13-0.27-xen 64bit). The truth is that every tutorial I see it differently and I do not know where this error. When I start the domU, pvgrub shows the options but when I select the kenel-xen, returns the error "Boot loader did not return any

Possible memdisk issue
From: Ady, Tue, 8 Jul 2014 > [...] every document related to newmkfloppyimg.sh > specifically recommends adding: > floppy c=$CYLINDERS s=$SECTORS h=$HEADS > to the MEMDISK arguments. Good advice. As it turns out, according to the memdisk output, it is already correctly determining CHS. Explicitly specifying the values doesn't seem to have an effect. > You might also want

[Semi-OT] Advice on large webmail setup
Hi all, As the resident Linux guru, I've just been tasked with costing a webmail setup for about 600 000 users. They each have 10MiB (small, I know) mailboxes. The current setup has about 40 million web page accesses per month. Has anyone here any experience with this kind of thing? If so, any pointers as to software and hardware used, and any other advice would be appreciated. TIA --

[XCP] Strange bug this avaible memory for guests
I got really strange situation with memory on host: xe host-list params=memory-free memory-free ( RO) : 10305536 (10Mb) xe host-compute-free-memory 3147059200 (3Gb) A huge difference! And xentop show different numbers too! I will keep this host online "as is" and I am ready to provide information for debbugging or perform needed actions. -- wBR,George.

[Xen-API] Frequent I/O error of HTTP server and memory error on XenServer5.6 FP1
Hi, I am using XenServer5.6 FP1 GA release with openvswitch as network backend. When I create VM through xapi, "apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: I/O error" happens very frequently. At meanwhile my xencenter lost connection to hosts. Another thing is when I tried to kill VMs from xencenter, it complains "Internal error:Sys_error("Thread.create: Cannot allocate

[PATCH][XM-TEST][1/3] New Network Infrastructure for Xm-Test
Hi, This patch and the two that will follow add a new network infrastructure to xm-test. The goal is to make writing tests with networking easy. The patches add a new XenDevice class and NetConfig class. The XenDevice and the XenNetDevice subclass represent devices in xm-test and are linked to the XenDomains. The NetConfig class manages xm-test''s network configuration. The patches make

Default compression level for -compress-debug-info=zlib?
Hi Rui, What's the intended advantage for compressing the debug sections? - (i) Improved link time through smaller IO / (ii) Improved Load / startup time for the debugger / (iii) Smaller exe with debug info for distribution / disk space? For i) and ii) how much this is worth it depends on balance of storage bandwidth to compression (i) / decompression (ii) bandwidth. For spinning drives it

location of file-system information on ext4
Hi, I zero-filled first 10MiB of my SSD(dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=10M count=1). As expected, this wiped my primary GPD header and first partition. Before the wipe, GPT was following: Disk /dev/sda: 250069680 sectors, 119.2 GiB Logical sector size: 512 bytes Disk identifier (GUID): 2EFD285D-F8E6-4262-B380-232E866AF15C Partition table holds up to 128 entries First usable sector is 34, last

Xen and Fedora 7
I recently installed Fedora 7, Xen with Windows Vista in a VM using the Virtual Machine Manager tool. Everything has worked great but now I can not get the VM to start during Linux boot. I made sure xend and xendomain are started using chkconfig. Everything I have read talked about placing a .hvm file in the /etc/xen/auto directory. The Virtual Machine Manager tool did not create a .hvm file

Default compression level for -compress-debug-info=zlib?
Not really, as well as some sensitivity to the input data overall performance of the link with compression will depend on how this is implemented in lld - how is it parallelized? How is it chunked? Is it effectively pipelined with IO? Or, I wouldn't feel comfortable being able to make a recommendation to our end-users on whether to use this option or not based on my existing extensive
