Audacity settings for Asterisk sound files
Can anyone provide the settings in Audacity to create a proper wav file without having to do additional conversion in the cli? Has to be a way to do this with less steps.

Controlling Cisco 7960 Ringtone from Asterisk
I'm trying to change the ring tone on my 7960 from the dialplan. I've
tried the example on the wiki but it doesn't seem to work. Something like:
exten => 3010,1,SetVar(ALERT_INFO=<Bellcore-dr1>) ; selects Ringer
exten => 3010,2,Dial(SIP/3010,15)
I'm not sure what the Bellcore-dr1 ringer is supposed to be. I've tried
replacing ALERT_INFO with another ring tone

Initial audio dropping
We have Asterisk 1.4.23.1 running on a Dell rack server and the audio is not playing initially. Seems to be throughout, if you dial *65 we only hear the last bit of the extension and the voicemails being left are missing the beginning of the message. Running the same load of software we have running on other Dell servers, but this is a rack with Xeon processors. I can't see what else might be

Problem with TLS and Outlook 2010
Dovecot 2.0.9
So I am trying to get my Outlook 2010 client to use TLS with Dovecot.
The Outlook error that I get is:
Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): A secure connection to the server
cannot be established.
I have set the port to 143,993,995 none of them work, and the security to
TLS.
I have all of the certificates in the full chain installed on my machine and

Dovecot replies with default SSL certificate instead of the vhost's
Hello,
I'm using dovecot v2.0.21.
According to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/SSL/DovecotConfiguration,dovecot 2.x supports different SSL certificate for different virtual hosts by using "local_name" directive, but I can't get it to work.
When testing the certificate using "openssl s_client -connect domain.com:pop3s" I get the default certificate instead of

Uniden UIP200 phones
I am trying to get distinctive ringing going again with these phones,
depending on the outside line the call comes in on.
I had a working 1.0.x Asterisk setup using:
SetVar(ALERT_INFO=<http://127.0.0.1/Bellcore-dr2>)
Which used the short quick rings.
In Asterisk 1.4, I have tried several things, but I think the correct
syntax is:
Set(_ALERT_INFO=<http://127.0.0.1/Bellcore-dr2>)
But

_ALERT_INFO replacement in 1.4?
Hi All
I have just upgraded from Asterisk 1.2 to 1.4 and am having trouble with
with one of my ATAs not ringing.
Basically, when I execute the Dial command, an error occurs: "Got SIP
response 400 "In alert-info header: Empty value expected"
Now in 1.2, I just issued the following command to overcome this
problem: Set(_ALERT_INFO=).
Now in 1.4, _ALERT_INFO is deprecated, so I

Thunderbird does not notice new mails arrival in imap folders
Hello
Since I've installed Dovecot 2 I've observed that TB does not
notice new mails arrival in IMAP folders.
When I click on a folder new mails count is updated, with
dovecot 1 it was automatic.
I wonder if it is due to the new TB version (lastest stable)
or Dovecot 2 (2.0.11).
I use MBOX format.
See below the doveconf -n trace
Thanks for any idea/info

Inbound SIP calls work, just not when making calls between extensions.
This is a problem that is completely stumping me, and my understanding of
Asterisk dialplans tells me this should never be a problem. Moreover, this
scenario works on Asterisk 1.4 but not 1.6.
We have a customer with several Aastra 6731 phones. They want incoming
calls from the PSTN to work and they also want to be able to call each
other "internally" on a special non-DID number (like

Bell Canada Caller-ID
Has anyone gotten CID from Bell Canada to work properly with *?
We have our * box down at our datacentre in St Louis, and whenever we
call it from a Bell Canada Telephone line, all we see is '' for the CID.
I did some digging on google and the mailing lists and couldn't find
anything pertaining directly to Bell-Canada and * CID, but didn't find
much. I did however find :

You never posted which certificate has expired. Your dashboard shows
they're all valid, but the download still fails, presumably because
something not shown has expired.

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
It's the top of chain CA cert, so browsers are being lazy and helpful
to humans by (incorrectly, albeit) relying on the existing trust
relationship.
libcurl (et al) is not nearly as forgiving.

Forward the ALERT_INFO
Is asterisk able to forward it's ALERT_INFO data to another asterisk server
?
My situation should look like the following:
Call comes into asterisk1 in SIP. Asterisk1 sets the ALERT_INFO=Bellcore-r2,
Asterisk1 dials Asterisk2 (SIP), Asterisk2 dials our SIP device which should
ring with the Bellcore-r2
Any way to pass the ALERT_INFO through to the SIP device?
Thanks
