R isn't finding tcltk
On a x86 machine operating under Gentoo Linux, I'm having persistent
difficulty in getting R version 2.6.1 (the latest available through
Gentoo's portage system) to use tcltk. The R command library(tcltk)
elicits the following response:
Error in firstlib(which.lib.loc, package) :
Tcl/Tk support is not available on this system
Error in library(tcltk) : .First.lib failed for

Damn itcl to hell.
Hi,
Sorry to bug people with this what must be a very trivial question. I've got
a Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers
Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed'
version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and
am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup.

codeweavers-wine:itcl problem
codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 hung during install (rpm) at
the creation of KDE/Gnome menus; since I don't use either,
I thought, no prob and ran winesetup from Blackbox.
I skipped re-making the links on starting winesetup and
went right for the configuration. which also failed. This
is the message it generated:
Error: Invoking 'wish Main.itcl' in
/opt/wine/bin/winesetuptk

tree/graph data structure APIs?
What is the best code available for simple general purpose
manipulation of tree (and/or directed graph) data structures in R?
Looking through CRAN, I see a bunch of packages for stastical
regression trees, but nothing that seems to provide an API for
manipulating tree data structures. What I'm looking for is something
along the lines of an R version of the Tcllib ::struct::tree API

End of File Error on index optmize
I was optimizing a 650MB using ferret (0.11.3) and I received the
following error. I''ve seen some people have similar issues but I
haven''t seen any resolutions. The contents of the index directory
follow the error. Has anyone seen anything like this and found a
resolution? Many thanks.

Loop over several variables
Hey everybody,
I am looking for a way to loop commands over several variables in a
dataframe. Basically I want to do something like this:
ti1<-aggregate(dataframename$y1,
by=data.frame(dataframename$aggregationvar),
sum,na.rm=TRUE)
This works fine as it is but i want to do it for several variables thereby
generating several tix. I tried with a for-loop but the

I noticed a distribution for 7.2 & 8.0 but not 7.3.
Download and installation of the 7.2 version appears to go fine - until i
give the command wine -v
I do understand there is not a config file with the distribution.
However when i start wine -v
and take the option to setup config it fails twith a message
can't find package Itcl and also says the config file does not exist.

however while running asterisk without any clients online my system-load is
about 1 -> and asterisks seems to run all the time. is this the default
