Version string
6.2p2 prints the same version string in the debugging output as it does
when invoked with -V:
% ssh -V
OpenSSH_6.2p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8y 5 Feb 2013
% ssh -v nonesuch |& head -1
OpenSSH_6.2p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8y 5 Feb 2013
6.3p1 and newer don't - I don't have anything at hand that runs 6.3p1,
but here are 6.[456]p1:

Zaptel errors (power alarm?)
We've been having lost dialtone problems on one of our analog station
ports. Just before rebooting this time I noticed these in our dmesg
output....once the PBX comes back I'll get the times, but I can't help but
think this must have something to do with it. Anyone? Do we need to have
digium send us a replacement part?
Ouch, part reset, quickly restoring reality (1)

Feature request/EOI: Match interactive config?
Or just create bash (or whatever your favorite shell equivalent is) alias?
alias issh=?sah -F ~/.ssh/altcinfig?
Or wrapper scripts in ~/bin/ you can invoke?
Literally what I do for mosh, mosh+screen etc.

It never seems to spawn a bash session. Is there some ssh internal shell
that handles commands getting passed in like this?
Thanks

Wrong permissions for $HOME
Hi,
today me and a friend of mine spent several hours figuring out why ssh
still asked for a password after we set up public key authentication.
We have tried to understand the problem by reading 'ssh -vvv ...', but
unfortunately the output was not useful. In the end of the day we have
found out that sshd actually was logging this problem.... So that's
for the context.
Now, can you

Flag to turn off host-key check
Let me start by saying that I think OpenSSH is a great tool and thanks to everyone contributing to it's existence.
However, I have a request:
I'd like to have a flag that ignores the check of the host key. I'm fully aware of that this opens up for man-in-the-middle attacks and that there is a risk of lazy users mis-using this feature, but it would be very useful for us using SSH in a

only root without password
Hi all,
I have a very strange problem with the public key authentication with 2
machines.
I generated the key, configured the authorized_keys etc.. etc.. This is
all ok, now:
The ssh works without the password for the "root" user, any other user
cannot use the key and ssh ask me for the password !!
I cannot understand why only the root is able to connect without the
password. So, the ssh

AR: Be careful w/legacy column names with capital letters
All,
I''ve found an issue that is somewhat strange.
Assume: An AR object backed by a legacy schema which includes column
names that start with a capital letter.
Summary: In a partial view, you cannot access an overridden getter
method for a column on your model object if that method name is equal to
the column name and the column name starts with a capital letter.

Capital letters in usernames
Hi,
Can anyone help me with an annoying problem regarding capital letters
in usernames.
I have three users whose usernames begin with a capital, and I'd
really like to fix this so that all usernames are lower case, for
consistency and to avoid confusion if they use other services provided
by the linux box.
(I'm using tbdsam backend, with Samba 3.0.22 as PDC.)
I've tried using

Capital Letters - Charset problem
Hello,
I have a strange problem with samba 3.0.1 on suse 8.1, when I mount an
NT shared directory the accented capitals letters are not recognised.
Everything works fine except for files having accented *capitals*.
My smb.conf has:
unix charset = ISO-8859-15
display charset = ISO-8859-15
dos charset = CP850
unicode = No
I tried compiling libiconv and recompiling samba with it, but with no

Vampire and Capital Letters
I find Linux to be a nightmare if usernames have capital letters.
Some old Windows PDCs that we are vampiring have usernames with capital
letters.
AFAIK you can't change a windows username
Is there a way of telling the vampire to make all usernames lowercase as
it imports them?
Can I use pdbedit or any other tool to make them lowercase?
At the moment I am changing /etc/passwd and the

capital letters in html help
While looking for "Memory" in the html help I discovered that all the capital
letters are put in the first section with operators and global variables. I
think this a bug although perhaps Memory is a global variable.

Openssh + AFS
The native authentication methods of openssh are
(not counting insecure RhostsRSAAuthentication)
1) public key
2) password
For users with home dirs in AFS space, method 1) does not work.
Except with (non foolproof) fiddling on the access controls within
the home directory. This might lead to security issues when done
by inexperienced users.
Without some work, only 2) remains. Being forced to send

How to change letters after space into capital letters
What is the easiest way to change within vector of strings
each letter after a space into a capital letter?
E.g.:
c( "this is an element of the vector of strings", "second element" )
becomes:
c( "This Is An Element Of The Vector Of Strings", "Second Element" )
My reason to try to do this is to get more readable abbreviations.
