Regression in 6.5p1 when using -W option
Hi,
we got a report on the Cygwin mailing list showing that there's a
spurious error message when using the -W option. This didn't occur with
OpenSSH 6.4p1. Here's an example:
$ ssh machine1 -W machine2:22
getsockname failed: Bad file descriptor
SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.1
The error message is a result of getsockname being called with a
file descriptor -1. The call stack at the

getsockname access
Is getsockname (or its equivalent) available to an EM Connection
object? I''d like to access the local port number in my client
application.

[Bug 164] X-forwarding when connecting to an IPv6-enabled host doesn't work.
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164
------- Additional Comments From cjwatson at debian.org 2002-10-27 00:16 -------
Marco d'Itri suggested in http://bugs.debian.org/153154 that ssh should only
bind to AF_INET addresses in x11_create_display_inet(), since at least the
xtrans code in XFree86 doesn't support IPv6. Is this a valid approach?

No thanks for breaking third-party applications
Hi *,
I was just debugging why TFTP booting did not work any more
on a system that had pxelinux.0 was updated.
?Since version 5.00, support for 16-bit COMBOOT modules has been
dropped, and c32 modules switched from the COM32 object format to ELF.?
Ugh. Well, updating the *.c32 files was enough to make the
Linux discless thingy work again. BUT!
The MirBSD bootloader actually took advantage of

I'm trying to compile openssh2.3.0p1 on aix3.2.5.
Can I ignore this list of warning messages?

Dynamic port remote listener - a BUG?
Hello,
Today I tried using "dynamically assigned" port for remote listener, by
requesting listener on port 0. This is supposed to create a listener on a
port choosen by server. Everything seemed OK (the choosen port was sent back
to client), but forwarding was refused. So I checked the source.
in channels.c, function: channel_setup_fwd_listener

remote forwarding in 2.9p2
Hi,
It looks like remote forwarding with SSH v2 is not working
on my Solaris machines (and from what I understand from the
source, it may not work elsewhere either).
When looking at channel_post_port_listener() in channels.c,
I found that nextstate was defined as :
nextstate = (c->host_port == 0) ? SSH_CHANNEL_DYNAMIC :
SSH_CHANNEL_OPENING;
And later comes the call :

Dovecot 1.0-test52 and LDAP authentication
Hi all!
I have upgraded Dovecot 0.99.11 installation that's worked with LDAP to
Dovecot 1.0-test52 and I can't get LDAP to work. I noticed the
/etc/dovecot.conf is slightly different, so I have adjusted changes. If I
use the standard auth (passw & pam) everything works fine, however when I
user ldap for auth Dovecot starts but then dies:

[PATCH] --soften-links option (fwd from md@Linux.IT) Re: rsync and debian mirrors
Any thoughts?
I have half a mind to turn it on by default, but I guess it's better
not to.

What do you see in the logs?
My guess is that someone is trying a brute force auth against you,
