Status of Windows Search Protocol support in Samba?
I've been trying to Google this but have not found any definitive answers. Does Samba currently support Windows Search Protocol[1]? I did find these lecture slides from a few years ago (five years?) but they don't tell me about the current status: https://sambaxp.org/archive_data/SambaXP2015-SLIDES/wed/track1/sambaxp2015-wed-track1-Noel_Power-WindowSearchProtocolAndSamba.pdf (by Noel

TableGen - Help to implement a form of gather/scatter operations for Mips MSA
Hello. Will, thanks a lot for pointing me to the MaskedGatherSDNode and mgatherv4i32. I have to say that the definition of the "multiclass avx512_gather" from lib/Target/X86/X86InstrAVX512.td is difficult to follow and I prefer not to use it. I currently have some serious problems with TableGen - it gives an assertion failure:

TableGen - Help to implement a form of gather/scatter operations for Mips MSA
Hello. I wanted to inform that I fixed the bug from the previous email. The main reason for the bug was that I thought that the SDNode masked_gather is returning only 1 value, but it returns 2 (hence, I guess, the earlier reported, difficult to follow, error: "Assertion `New->getNumTypes() == 1"). masked_gather returns 2 values because: // SDTypeProfile -

Is newhidups driver still in memory just before o/s halt ?
Hi, I have set-up the ups shutdown feature provided by Red Hat /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt script, which will issue a "upsdrvctl shutdown" command just before powering off the system. It appears that this command fails as if the driver is not available. I wonder whether the usb driver / stack is still available at this very late stage ? If not available then does it mean one cannot

Winbind problem with more details.
Everyone, One of our developers was kind enough to insert some bug checking into the mod_auth_pam and mod_auth_sys_group so that we could see a little more of what was going on with our authentication failures. Here is what we just saw. Two of our users NA\connelmp and NA\guminssa both started getting messages that they were not part of the required group. Here is the log for

Wsearch
Hi Noel, As we discussed on the list, I busy getting the bits and pieces in place to be able to test your windows search work. I am running all my stuff on Debian Bullseye, with Samba code in 3 lxc-containers. Two are for the DCs, one is the fileserver. Everything is managed by Ansible code, I try to avoid manual changes to my environment(s) as much as possible. Generally manual changes are

ts() defunct in R 2.5.0?
Hi! I have written an R-package (http://tocsy.agnld.uni-potsdam.de/wavelets/index.html) in R 2.4.1 that requires the ts() function. Users using R 2.5.0 now have a problem installing this package. I checked the package using R 2.5.0: _______________________________________________________ * Installing *source* package 'sowas' ... ** libs gcc -std=gnu99

Windows search equivalent on Samba?
In a pure Windows environment I'm helping manage, I recently had to set up full text indexing on a file share. Since it's not possible to actually index a file share from the client side, this has to be done on the server itself and in case of Windows Server, this is done using the Windows Search service. It's very easy to set up, too, just takes a few clicks. And Samba? A quick
