similar to: configure issue when libattr is in a non-standard location?

I've managed to fix the problem with copying to a samba share resulting in the "server is no longer available message". The problem was caused by the SGI libacl-2.0.9 upgrade. Seems like SGI broke some of the attr function calls from the acl lib into the attr lib. Since samba binaries tended to be linked ONLY to libacl, and not libattr this caused issues with samba. Typically, RPM's from RedHat or Fedora are pretty dependent on glibc and other system libraries. Newer version of RedHat will have newer versions of glibc, so the official packages are often not compatible with older versions. OK so I've got samba-3.0.11 compiled with ACL support. I've running 2.4.25 with the ACL/ATTR patch applied.
