Dovecot mailstore performance tuning
HI All,
We have a couple of dovecot director proxies and six backed mailstores
each accessing mailboxes stored on five NFSv4 filsystems with about
1TB of mail on each in maildir format.? We have about 800 max users
on each mailstore at peak times and performance appears to starting to
degrade at these times.? The mailstores are pretty recent hardware
with 64GB of RAM and 24 cores.?? The NFS

centos 7, docker, NFS and uid = -2
I created a centos 7 docker container in which I want to mount a
NFS share in. Said share is owned by user virtual with uid 1200. So I
do some exporting (docker container is in 172.17.0.0/16):
spindizzy> cat /etc/exports
/export 10.0.0.0/24(ro,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,sync)
172.17.0.0/16(ro,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,sync)
[...]
/export/mail 172.17.0.0/16(rw,root_squash,no_subtree_check,sync)

huge increase in storage activity afther dovecot upgrade
Yes, multiple imap servers using one shared nfs storage. With the same
config on 2.2.13 the public interface traffic was similar to the storage
interface, around 100 mbps.
After we switch to 2.2.27 the storage interface traffic jumped 10 times
while the public interface stayed the same. This make us thinking that
something is wrong and each time a user logs in the whole Inbox content
is read

nfs4 with Samba 4
Hi everyone
Version 4.0.0alpha18-GIT-bfc7481
openSUSE 12.1
Conventional nfs4 export works fine, but I'm having trouble kerberizing
it for Samba 4 for my Samba 4 users.
I've setup the nfs4 pseudo stuff like this:
hh3:/ # mkdir /export
hh3:/ # mkdir /export/home
hh3:/ # mount --bind /home /export/home
Here is /etc/exports:

CentOS7 and NFS
Hi Orion,
no, I still have this problem. I delay working on it as I the latest
updates have not been installed on the server and on the client. I'll
work again on this problem as soon as possible.
Thanks Charles for your detailed information on how to track this
problem. I'll check all these metrics.
I have several clients for this nfs server and the problem seems only to

Re: [PATCH virt-v2v] v2v: Allow temporary directory to be set on a global basis.
I finally got access to the container. This is how it's configured:
* / => an overlay fs.
There is sufficient space here, and there are no "funny" restrictions,
to be able to create the libguestfs appliance. I proved this by
setting TMPDIR to a temporary directory under / and running
libguestfs-test-tool.
There appears to be quite a lot of free space here, so in fact the

Are you connecting to the same mailbox over NFS from multiple IMAP
servers? If not and, at any given time, any mailbox will be accessed
from a single NFS client, try to "dupe" Dovecot into thinking it's not
using NFS. We're running quite successfully such setup with NFSv3 over
TCP, which turned out to be the fastest and most reliable throughout the
years. Here are the mount

C Code to connect to Asterisk Manager Interface
Hi,
I have written a C code which would let me connect to the Asterisk Manager
Interface. The code compiles successfully but on running the code I get
unauthorized login shown in the Asterisk command line console.
Here is my C code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<netdb.h>
#include<unistd.h>
#include<string.h>
#include<arpa/inet.h>
#include<sys/types.h>

We have started seeing index corruption ever since we upgraded (we
believe) our imap servers from SL6 to Centos 7. Mail/Indexes are stored
on Netapps mounted via NFS. We have 2 lvs servers running surealived in
dr/wlc, 2 directors and 6 backend imap/pop servers.
Most of the core dumps I've looked at for different users are like
"Backtrace 2" with some variations on folder path.

NFS Server on Centos 7.6.1810 dying without reason
I managed to get NFS statistics just before server rebooted.
I can reproduce this every time.
Question: Am I saturating the SATA bus on the NFS server so violently
with the SSDs that the server hard reboots?
Perhaps due to the RAID 6 nature of operations?
