IMAP Folders Don't Make Sense
I noticed for some reason that I am missing an IMAP folder called 'Symantec' that was under my Inbox. I see all my other folders listed on my mail client except 'Symantec'. I then login to my mail server which runs Postfix / Dovecot & there I can see it: /home/cwilliams/Maildir [root at mail Maildir]# ls -la total 608 drwx------ 33 cwilliams it 4096 Feb 25 13:23 . drwx------

Query: SELECT "INBOX" permission denied
Yesterday I was forced to migrate servers due to a hardware failure. I have been able to bring up my mail server, and set up Squirrelmail and Dovecot. I am able to access (via Squirrelmail) all users' mail except one - which happens to be my wife's, so it would be really helpful if I could get that working too. I am able to log in, but see the following message in the main pane:

Transitioning away from mail_location = maildir:~
Hi, I have been using this setup for years: mail_home = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n mail_location = maildir:~ I have since learned that mail_home and mail_location should be different. I plan to use this: mail_home = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n mail_location = maildir:~/mail I would like the transition to be transparent for my email clients. I don't want mail/directories/sieve_scripts to

NFS issue
I am currently running K12LTSP on Centos 5, which is working well but without sound on most machines(ok all). So in order to remedy this and the cd-burning issue I have decided to try to install CentOS locally on one machine and then apply the personalizations via NFS. Steps: I editted the /etc/exports to export the /home dir as per the NFS howto and that seemed to work as the user homes were

IMAP Clients can not see 3rd tier nested IMAP directories
I have a very bizarre problem that I hope someone can help me with. I am not sure if this is a Dovecot problem, or IMAP client problem. I recently used Transend's Migrator to move mail from Exchange 2007 to my Dovecot 1.0.7 server. The program seems to have moved the nested IMAP dirs properly as seen below in a directory listing of the maildir dir. The nested dirs have indexes, cur, new

Are your symlinks identified as symlinks on Samba/SMB shares?
Hi, I would appreciate someone testing if their system can recognize symlinks (as below) on their SMB share. My Mac and Windows machines can NOT recognize symlinks on my NAS's SMB share, they just identify symlinks as real files and folders. Why is this an issue? Because when I try to copy parts of these backups from the NAS it just loops back on itself forever. Eg: From NAS (QNAP TS-453A)

idmap limit?
Hi, no, that's my fault. I changed the UIDs and user names in my "ls -l" to unpersonalized/example data for my mail and didn't think about putting these values into the range. A better unpersonalized data example would look like: ---------- drwx------ 43 DOM\user1        DOM\group  4096 Jan 10 08:00 user1 drwx------   5 DOM\user2        DOM\group  4096 Jan 11 08:13 user2

IMAP creates .userid directory even after pop.
We are currently running dovecot-1.0.10 on Solaris 10 x86. Several users has noticed that they get different emails when using pop vs using IMAP. When I check a user's home directory, I find the following situation: /nfs/mail/1/1/hiro.11/mail/: drwx------ 6 176785 1000 512 Mar 21 07:53 . drwxr-xr-x 3 176785 1000 512 Feb 29 17:01 .. drwx------ 5 176785 1000

dnsmasq does not start
Hi! I am trying to run tap networking with libvirtd. My test system is Fedora18/ppc64, libvirt 1.0.4 (compiled from git and installed). On another system with Fedora17/ppc64 with the same settings, dnsmasq is running. All configs in /etc/libvirt/ are default and not changed, the only exception is /etc/libvirt/qemu/networks/default.xml which I copied from Fedora17/ppc64 setup. What does

Hierarchy separator and LAYOUT=FS change
Hello, I stumbled across a 5-year-old post on the dovecot list about changing the dovecot hierarchy separator to enable shared mailboxes (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-January/056201.html <http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-January/056201.html>). At the moment I?m stuck in a pretty similar situation. Migrated from courier to dovecot 2 years ago and preserved the

--copy-unsafe-links does not work for "double" symlinks
Hi, as documented, if you use rsync with --copy-unsafe-links, and copy a directory with a symlink pointing outside of the copied tree, the referent of the symlink is copied. Now, assume that the directory contains a symlink, which points to a (2nd) directory outside of the copied tree. If this (2nd) directory contains another symlink, which also points outside of the copied tree, rsync
