On dovecot 2.2.12 compiled from source I use ActiveSync with kolab-syncroton.
When running a test i have this imap log:

I try to create a shared directory in dovecot.
When accessing ( from roundcube) i can't subscribe or list the namespace.
It looks like I don't have rights.
This is an extract from debug log:

try) loooks like the process crash:

Aw: Dovecot - Postfix Calender Synchronisation
We murdered web applications with a chainsaw. Web 2.0 has too many security holes.

I can't say you are wrong ( you can better use a hammer.. ) but caldav
is more or less web based.
I like the approach in kolab ( store contact in mailboxes, it works with
dovecot, I have few server using it) but there is no usable client side
implementation. I tried to fix the synckolab plugin for thunderbird in
the past ( it works but i'm afraid some parts should be rewritten ) but

userdb with LDAP
Hi list
I currently having troubles to "connect" dovecot (for proxy) to an
existing LDAP.
If I got the dovecot wiki right only userdb is needed for a proxy setup
where the proxy does not authenticate but just forward to the backend
for authentication.
So I setup the following in dovecot-ldap.conf.ext
user_attrs = =password,=y=nopasswd,=y=proxy,mailHost=host
user_filter =

Aw: Dovecot - Postfix Calender Synchronisation
I still find impediments to the adoption of any of those "solutions". Too many software dependencies, like PHP, DB, python, and a virtual machine. --- There are two portable file formats for calendar and contacts that work across applications and systems, but no server that can use them, and use them safely.

Ms Exchange vs dovecot
I was wondering about the sieve rules, because I thought they were
executed during mail delivery in the lmtp process. You can also 'guess'
this a bit from syntax of the rules or the single file they are stored
in. Thus if you 'drag' messages between folders, they are not executed.
Off topic:
I know Exchange is a different solution. What I think is stupid, is that
they store

http://xi.rename-it.nl 2.2.16-1~auto+10/11/12/13: segfault /var/lib/dovecot/auth OR (db_ldap_connect_delayed):
hi,
I testing around with Kolab with LDAP and have some strange problems, with the auto generated packages for Wheezy.
On my first test VM, I have 2:2.2.16~rc1-1~auto+4 installed, and everything works as expected. On a new VM I have 2.2.16-1~auto+13_amd64.deb packages and if I include LDAP backend, I get a segmentation fault on /usr/lib/dovecot/auth:

Annotation plugin for dovecot
Hi,
as part of an effort to make dovecot usable as the IMAP component in the Kolab
Groupware system <http://kolab.org/>, we've started to develop a plugin that
implements the IMAP METADATA extension. The plugin is still under
development and development is focused on the plugin's use in Kolab, so it
will at first only implement what's immediately needed to achieve that

Samba and Kolab integration - HOWTO
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know, that I've written a HOWTO on Samba and
Kolab integration.
In other words, I tried to explain, hopefully in an easy way, how to add
Kolab groupware functionality to an existing Samba/OpenLDAP setup - so
that both Samba and Kolab users would use the same credentials.
You can find it on http://wpkg.org/kolab
Of course feel free to comment :)

Ms Exchange vs dovecot
First of all, Exchange is a complete solution. Dovecot is a imap/pop3
server ( a good one, sure... )
So replacing exchange means to find an integrated solution.
about the questions: public folder was removed in exchange. IMHO they
made the right choice :)
There is a different thing, need different tools and different client
app. You can create shared mailboxes ( i think it's a little

Which is better? Microsoft Exchange 2016 or Linux-based SMTP Servers?
Dear Promise Kumalo,
Thank you for the recommendations.
So for Exchange equivalents in the Linux world, it is Zimbra and Kolab.

SELECTing a mailbox has nothing to do with FETCHing messages, so above
does not make much sense.
I don't know dovecot's code, but I

Dovecot 1.1.x or 1.2, which way to go for Kolab Server?
Hi Timo,
Hi *,
was written the other day we started to use Dovecot 1.2 for our Kolab
with Dovecot project, but it turned out that there are quite a bunch of
issues with 1.2 (which is ok, as it hasn't even been announced as beta
till now).
We have a customer who should get a first test installation of Kolab
with Dovecot in the first week of September and for that we need the
features

Dovecot CalDAV server
I've been once in a while over the years thinking about implementing CalDAV (and CardDAV) to Dovecot. It might be time to start that soon. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far my main goals would be:
- scalable, of course
- configurable storage (object storage, regular fs, maybe some key-value dbs, maybe storing as emails)
- efficient indexes (potentially using key-value dbs? or maybe
