Extending a js class
It''s been a few days since I posted my last two emails (of which, no one replied to) so I''ve gone ahead and coded a working slider class as well as a ''resizeable'' class that allows a user to drag and resize the element. I also linked these two together as I want to have slider behavior that can resize the resizeable element. The end result is both the

Slider controls
Heya! Thanks to Marty Haught, script.aculo.us (as of changeset 2281) now sports a new Control for horizontal and vertical sliders. See the functional test file (test/functional/slider_test.html) for information on how to use it. Basically, you do: <div id="track1" style="width:200px;background-color:#aaa;height:5px;"> <div id="handle1"

Too much recursion
Hey Guys, I''ve just encountered this error in Firefox will I pulled the latest scriptaculous rc into project. Sadly, I don''t have a linkable page for you to look over at the point. My question is what is this error exactly? My code before this never got it but now it does. My few searches suggest it''s the browsers way of keeping infinite loops from happening

Converting text into a javascript array
Hey Guys, I know this isn''t specific to scriptaculous libraries but it''s something that I''m exploring as I use the ajax functions in prototype. My application server is not rails but java and I was thinking of returning a javascript array in the ajax response. When I get back my response is it, of course, text and I''m not sure how best to convert it into

IE and the activeX security warning
I''ve been testing my page, which not only includes my new slider code but the drag and drop code as well. You can see it here: http://hoover.razorstream.com/preference.htm My issue is that in IE, I get the annoying security warning across the top saying ''IE has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer''. If I allow the

Java with Scriptaculous
I know that the prototype library was paired with Rails but I''m curious if anyone has used the ajax part (of the libraries) with java servlets? If so could you please point me to some examples or documentation. Cheers, Marty

IE rendering of Sliders
Small point, has anyone noticed that the sliders don''t render properly in IE 6.0? http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/SliderDemo I''ve dabbled with the HTML and CSS and got ''em to render properly in IE 6 (and IE 5.5... yes, I know...) .slider-track { width:50px; height:5px; background-color:gray; position:relative; /* IE fix */ } .slider-handle

Slider Problems
Hi, I have two minor problems with scriptaculous sliders: a) when a list of allowed values is provided and that list contains 0 the value 0 is not usable This can be seen in the slider_test.html functional tests, slider 5 (multiple handles and predefined values), which allows values [0,0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8]. I cannot move any of the sliders to position 0 (using mozilla 1.7.8, same for

Rails 2 doesn't include builder.js, scriptaculous.js, slider.js, and sound.js. Should I add them?
I''m upgrading the Scriptaculous files in my Rails 2 project to version 1.8. Rails 2 doesn''t produce builder.js, scriptaculous.js, slider.js, and sound.js in the Javascript folder by default, and the files it produces (controls.js, dragdrop.js, effects.js) don''t have a version number in them. If I''m replacing the default files with the Scriptaculous 1.8

Slider.js - Attemting to put values in form.
I can''t figure out how to take that value that the user has chosen in the slider and put that into a form value. Does anybody know how to do this? Resizeable
Has anyone done any work on a "Resizeable" class they''d be willing to share? I''m looking to do some stuff that''ll need resizable divs, but I didn''t want to re-invent the wheel if I can avoid it. -Jerod _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

window class - how to resize and/or move using scriptaculous
Hello, I was wondering whether I could do something like this: http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/scripts/floating_window/floating_window.html using scriptaculous - what I don''t see is how the moving and resizing of the div window could be achieved. Does anybody have a solution to this yet? Thank you in advance for your input.

scriptaculous-js-1.5.0
I''m not a JavaScript guy, so please help me out. It''s my understanding that Rails 1.0 includes scriptaculous-js-1.5.0 But it seems to contain portions of, but not the complete library. Rails 1.0 includes 4 .js files, scriptaculous-js-1.5.0 includes 8. What am I missing? > tmornini$ rails --version > Rails 1.0.0 > > tmornini$ rails test | grep

Scriptaculous - extending draggable via sortable
Hello, I have created a Yahoo style Drag and Drop using Scriptaculous Drag and Drop. I have hooked my custom functions to the Drag and Drop using the following code: new Draggable(element, {revert:true, ghosting:true, handle: handle, onStart: CollectionDragDrop.dragStart, onEnd: CollectionDragDrop.dragEnd, onDrag: CollectionDragDrop.dragMove, reverteffect:

js filesizes too bookoo?
Howdy, I use scriptaculous (and therefore prototype) to do mostly page effects, no drag-n-drop, no sliders, etc. Just wondering if there''s a way, other than modifing scriptaculous.js, to not include all of the scriptaculous libraries for my app? Also, is there a "lite" version of prototype that you can use with sciptaculous like there is with mooFX? Thx, Dave -- Posted

Scrolling Tables/Divs?
Is anyone working on a scrolling table or div such as the openrico livegrid demo? I''m looking to develop (much like smashbox''s scrolling images) a collection of thumbnails that you can scroll horizontally. I''ve got a non-prototype.js example but I wanted to check to see if anyone was closer than I to this. BTW, I will be finishing up my slider code shortly and

Very cool scriptaculous table drag and drop stopped working on new version
Using older versions of prototype.js (1.4.0_rc2) and scriptaculous (1.5._rc4), I had a master table containg other tables (sections), each of which had rows. Using tbody''s as containers, I could drag the section tables up and down over the other section tables AND drag the rows in a section table up and down within that table or into the rows of the other section tables, all very
