Two patches for Snap
Hi,
There are a couple of problems with Snapping Windows that I tried to fix:
(1) The snap to windows checkbox in ccsm has no effect because Snap treats
any window with struts as an edge, and all windows have struts. I think it
should be a test for dock windows.
(2) Windows don't snap to the left edge because it has been erased. The
right edge doesn't seem to get erased because it is

Porting from Struts to Rails
Hi all,
I''ve been put into the unique position of having to port a J2EE app
using Struts and Hibernate over to RoR. The good news is that it''s not
a terribly complicated application. The bad news is that I know next
to nothing about Struts. I took some Java classes in my university
days and have had the opportunity to work with a couple Java
developers in the past, so

Why Struts2 use dojo instead of Scriptaculous?
Hi,
I''m using prototype/Scriptaculous in my open source project JSControlsTags
http://jscontrolstags.sourceforge.net/
I''m Struts user and in the new version Struts2, the framework integrate AJAX
with dojo
and not with Prototype/Scriptaculous. I asked in the Struts forum, why
Struts2 integrate
by default dojo and not scriptaculous.
Here Struts answer :

Patch to wobbly snap for outputs
Here's a patch to wobbly.c to handle edge snapping with multiple outputs...
Also, I tweaked the window edge snapping to include dock window types, to
support the case where dock windows may be on the inner edges of multiple
monitors (and thus currently ignored as struts in the output workarea setup).
I personally think we should include these "inner" struts when calculating the

SOAP responses blowing up memory usage
Hi,
in our application we have a ActionWebController method that iterates
over a bunch of AR objects (say ~30,000) and converts them to struts.
The controller method automagically converts the array of Struts to
SOAP objects as advertised. There''s a point in
ActionWebService::Dispatcher::ActionController::InstanceMethods#dispatch

Quick patches for no-detection and constrain y
Here's a couple quick patches to resolve some minor issues
related to multiple outputs that I bumped into today.
nodetectfix.patch:
Enables reading outputs config (instead of 640x480 default)
when using "--no-detection" switch but config says detect.
constrainyoutput.patch:
Allows full vertical workarea to be used in the case of
multiple vertical outputs. Currently it won't

Patch for zoom with mixed resolutions
Hey, David, with the latest changes for output-specific zoom it wasn't focusing
properly for me with mixed resolutions. I think this patch corrects that.
(Oh, and on my previous comment I meant struts and not extents, if that was
confusing to anyone. It was to me when I re-read it, heh.)

Rails or Java J2EE (Spring, Struts Shale) - scalabilty
Hi,
normally I am doing all my webprojects with PHP. But now I am planning
to use a framework, either Ruby On Rails, or Java in particular J2EE
with Java Spring, or Struts Shale.
Well, I already tried RoR a few month ago, so I am simply comparing it
to the Java alternatives now. My problem is, that maybe using Java for
my projects is like using a dredger to grub a small hole :) But on the

[LLVMdev] "Different" Summer of Code Ideas
Hi Daniel,
I'm an interested student in that idea I enjoy building web apps and I
have good experience. I've worked with PHP, Javascript (Jquery, Dojo,
...), Java (JSF, Struts, ...), and some databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL,
...) ... for more than 7 years. I graduated in 2005 and this year I've
started doing Masters. For this year I have to study LLVM because it
can be part of my thesis

Form validation - keepin correct fields displayed on refresh
All,
I''m finally doing my first real form in Rails - the model object that
I''m entering information for has 8 validations so far.
If I type in good values for all the fields but one, I get the pretty
validation, and the nice field highlighting, but all of the fields are
cleared, forcing me to retype all of that info. That is a big drag.
Is there a standard way to get the

Newbie Question
Hi! I just ran the first few Rails tutorials and I''m really impressed
at how quickly I was able to get something up and running.
I''m slowly emerging from the stone ages, and leaving my powerbuilder
behind ? yes, I know, keep the snickering to a minimum please! I
started into J2EE/STRUTS, but was quickly frustrated by how long it
would take to code anything but relatively
