Confusion on stable development environments
Sorry if I am being a true noob, but I am very confused about what environment I should be using to learn RoR. I would like to eventually build something to deploy on google appengine. But am really just wanting at this point to learn Rails. But it seems that as I fumble about and try various tutorials that are available, I seem to be running to situations where I get some random error, when I

Mapstraction Sandbox & V2 push
Greetings from the day of rest after a week of Where. It was a great time out here - and there is a lot of interest in the community around Mapstraction. The new Sandbox (http://mapstraction.appspot.com) made surprisingly quick rounds and lots of kudos. It will be a great place to demo Mapstraction and encourage developers. We had a very good discussion about Mapstraction at WhereCamp. Pamela

Introduction
Following the Contribute directions, I'm BruceHowells. I'd like to contribute to the OpenShift page, as I'm trying to work through bringing up OpenShift on CentOS and have found an error in the documentation (a reference to "yum install openshift" rather than centos-release-openshift-origin) that I'd like to correct. I also would like to extend the existing content.

Rackspace, Engine Yard, Heroku, etc. - Which do you recommend?
Hello. We are looking for a new provider to host our Rails site -- we have outgrown our current provider (for the past 4 years) since our business is beginning to take off in a big way this year. Which provider (e.g. Rackspace, Engine Yard, Heroku, Serverbeach, etc.) would you recommend to run a highly scalable site? FYI, we currently have over 150,000 users that will likely grow to a million

Newbie - deployment, hosting
Hello, So, after learning ruby on rails and building a great app on my local machine, I need to find a host, deploy, and of course maintain a (staging and) production environment. This all seems very confusing, and I''d like to learn this in an organized manner, step by step: I''ve come across the names: Unicorn, nginx/apache, capistrano, Thin/mongrel, Engine Yard, EC2, etc.,
