IE iframe bug with Autocompleter over HTTPS
I ran across an issues using the Autocompleter over HTTPS in IE (6.0 in WinXP Pro SP2). I plan to submit a bug report to the Ruby on Rails trac, but first I''d like "to discuss this on th[is] Mailing List beforehand, maybe it''s already known and in the works, or it isn''t a bug" (per http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/BugReports) The autocomplete

The Autocompleter, with scrollable result-div
Hi everyone If you''ve seen this ticket, http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4782, you''ve noticed I have tried to make scrollable autocompleter work. The scrollIntoView works great, however the iframefix for IE didnt work in the previous change. This is fixed now. Also the "blur-on-scrollbar-click" should not work in both IE and Safari (can someone confirm this?) It all

Autocompleter without a default choice
Hi, I have an ajax auto completer for a text field in a form. All''s good. Unfortunately, I also want the form to be submitted when the user hits ''return'' in the text field. This combination of circumstances means that if the user is typing his entry and then hits return to submit it is possible that dang auto completer will pop up and complete his entry for even if he

Quick Question on Autocompleter Parameters
Hello, Is it possible to send the current value of a second form element with the AJAX request on the Autocompleter? At the moment, I initialise the Autocompleter on page load, so any parameters passed in the constructor are given the value set at page load time. I need to obviously pass in the value of the second form element when the autocompleter is called. Does this function already exist,

Draggables and z-index
I''m using Draggagle on a couple of divs and when I drop the first one, it''ll always drop behind (in terms of z-index) the second one. I even added a revert function to add a CSS class to the div that should raise it up, but I think the style.zIndex is "winning." Looking at the code, it seems like the zIndex stuff is set *after* the revert function is called... is

RE: Leak in the Autocompleter, with scrollable result-div ?
Tommy, Every time the Autocomplete results is blur()'d, it adds another onblur event observer (because of "Event.observe(this.update, "blur", this.onBlur.bindAsEventListener(this),true); // make sure blur is still around on") which leads to a performance problem / memory leak. (Commenting it out seems to fix this problem.) I was wondering why it was there? Thanks again,

IE and the activeX security warning
I''ve been testing my page, which not only includes my new slider code but the drag and drop code as well. You can see it here: http://hoover.razorstream.com/preference.htm My issue is that in IE, I get the annoying security warning across the top saying ''IE has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer''. If I allow the

Slider controls
Heya! Thanks to Marty Haught, script.aculo.us (as of changeset 2281) now sports a new Control for horizontal and vertical sliders. See the functional test file (test/functional/slider_test.html) for information on how to use it. Basically, you do: <div id="track1" style="width:200px;background-color:#aaa;height:5px;"> <div id="handle1"

Upgrade server to run on Rails 2.3.2/F11
Note that one of the 8 patches (#6) will be sent separately in reply to this email, as some of the replaced lines are too long, so git won't let me send the email. However, there is nothing wrong with that patch, and it should be applied in the sequence listed below. Note also that I assume this will be tested on a clean f11 install, rather than an upgrade of an existing ovirt server

Drag and drop problem if Droppable zones overlap
Hello, The question is related to Droppables and Draggable. I''m creating a splitter component with a DIV that acts as the splitter and 2 DIV zones that are the splitted zone. To do so I use the Droppables and Draggable in conjunction. The splitter DIV is a Draggable component and I define 2 Droppable zones for the splitter DIV (Zone A and B on each side of the splitter) It works fine

iframe ... does it have an innerHTML ?
If I dynamically create a hidden iframe, how could I add a document in a string to that element? e.g., var sDocument = ''<html><head></head><body>Hello world.</body></html>''; I''ve tried several variations of appendChild, innerHTML, document.innerHTML, createTextNode. Argh! _______________________________________________

RE: Form.serialize and Ajax.Request ->fileserialization and encoding
I''ve not looked into how it''s done but adding an attachment in Gmail (UK version) uploads the file without refreshing the window, and http://www.yousendit.com <http://www.yousendit.com/> appears to send a file via some sort of RPC or AJAX. Maybe this could be another starting point for you. Paul Shannon Web Applications Developer Codeweavers Limited Tel: 0870 443

How to pull the title and url from an iframe?
I have an iframe in which the user can browse. When they hit the ''add this page'' button i need to retrieve the url and the title of the page currently shown in the iframe. Does anyone know how to do this? Do i need to assign a variable name to my iframe? (currently it just sits in my template as a bit of html) -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

RE: Form.serialize and Ajax.Request->fileserialization and encoding
I''d bet money that they use a hidden iframe. Gmail already uses that to avoid breaking the back button, from what I''ve read. It''s impossible to send multipart form data through XMLHttpRequest, or so everything I read says and my own personal attempts confirm. There is an IE ActiveX plugin that will let you send files in a similar fashion, but it''s IE only. I

drag problem
Hi - my first post here so first of all can I say how impressed I am with this library Now to my first question - I''m simply trying to make a div draggable, here''s my test page: http://localhost:85/folio11.co.uk/js_tech_demo/scriptalicious_test.html what seems to be happening is that the first drag works fine, but on subsequent drags the div''s initial coordinates

Facebooker support for iframe apps
Hi facebooker-ers, It looks to me like facebooker does not currently support iframe facebook apps - or am I missing something? My first problem as I understand it is as follows - When you are logged into facebook, and access a facebook application, facebook tacks on a whole lot of extra fb_sig parameters to the request (including fb_sig_user) that the application can then validate to

Dynamically printing a page
Does anyone know of a cross browser solution to print a page/url after a user clicks a button? Currently, I''m using a "hidden" iframe to do my bidding. But from my experience, IE requires that the iframe''s src attribute be set initially to the url, in order for the page to open properly. I wasn''t able to add the iframe to the page dynamically, either. So

Security considerations with displaying uploaded HTML
I have an application where I am allowing users to upload (or refer the app. to) arbritrary HTML that I am (currently) displaying in an IFRAME on a page. The users will be authenticated so it''s not open to the entire universe. I was always uneasy with this, but after reading the security chapter of AWDWR, I am even more concerned. What kinds of applications do people have out there
