Speaking of firefox updates
I haven't gone past 38, because when the 45 update came out, and video...
like, say, my *required* training from work, when I tried to run it, it
crashed firefox. Repeatedly. 100% of the time.
Has anyone been using the current version had trouble with video, etc? I'd
like to update, but not if I can't do required training....

"General Error" in Firefox (CentOS 5.2) Video
This is a new instalation of CentOS 5.2
When I go to FireFox and try to watch a Video clip, some
files transfer, and then I get the message "General Error" in
the video window.
I ASSUME some additional software needs to be downloaded,
but what from where?
When running on that Other OS, a message comes up giving you
an opertunity to do the download.

I exited my Firefox browser and the lil bastard was still hogging up
my resources.
Took up 69% of 4GB, and wouldn't let go, until a kill -9 showed'em,
have to do it every time I open a pdf in firefox.
Any use Xpdf or something else?

cups, firefox + acrobat (Getting PJL output)
Hello,
I am having a problem when printing pdf files as viewed from firefox/acroread to a samba print share. When I print from firefox, I get PJL output. If I print the very same file directly from Acrobat, the file prints properly. Standard web pages print from firfox just fine.

acroread security problem
Dear all,
I think there's a security problem with the acroread plugin for firefox.
I'm using sysutils/pwsafe to manage my passwords. A feature of this
tool is that it can copy the requested password to the X clipboard,
allowing the user to paste it (eg. in a password box), never seeing
the pass in clear.
When I load a PDF document in Firefox, the acroread process lives on
even after the

CentOS 6
I finally switched workstations, and am running into a lot of truly
annoying details with CentOS 6, and the software with it. For one, I'm
doing this by webmail, and this version of Firefox *insists* on putting
what I'm typing in gray, rather than black. For another, I despise the new
version of thunderbird, since it now shows the full subject, if I have
what they used to call the preview

New Linux/Wine User Needs Help!
Hello,
I am running Wine with Ubuntu 10.04 on a Toshiba Laptop. I installed Wine using the Ubuntu Software Center and am using 1.1.42. I have 'installed' Adobe Reader, Firefox, IE 8 and Business Plan Pro from Palo Alto Software.
Firefox will start and run, IE 8 will not fully execute, Adobe Reader gives an error for Wine C++ Runtime error and Biz Plan Pro gives an Active X error 429.

Problems with Lotus Notes R5.0.12 under Wine 20050524
Hello all,
I have installed R5.0.12 on Red Hat Fedora Core 3, using Wine 20050524. I'm
getting a lot of FIXME messages but everything seems to be working fine.
Except for the following things:
1) Attachments are working fine, except for launching the attachment to
open directly in OpenOffice.org or Adobe Reader ... Most likely that this
is a WINE issue rather than a Lotus Notes/Under Wine

Can one invoke multiple INSTANCEs of Firefox on CentOS
I am doing some testing with XForms and I really need a separate instance
of Firefox, one that shares nothing with my primary instance that has
various reference works and web sites open, to test forms. Is this even
possible? I have a sense from the small bit of testing that I have done
that even with separate profiles and invoking the firefox process manually
from different terminal windows

acrobat reader for x86_64?
Adobe doesn't seem to have acroread for x86_64 linux, or at least I don't
see it anywhere.
Anybody know otherwise?
Evince and other tools work pretty well, but I have always liked having
the "real thing" around for those occasions when they don't.

Mac OS 9 and file type/creator
Hi,
I'm using R1.5.0 on Mac OS 9.1 to create graphics as pdf files. One
problem, admittedly pretty minor, is that the file type and creator
are blank. Is there any way from within R of setting the file type
and/or file creator of the resulting files so that OS9 can work out
which program to open the files in?
Thanks in advance,
David Orme

C6 Firefox 45.1 segmentation faults
I think this site is always failing. It has an embedded video.

I tried looking at the output of
strace firefox > fferrors.txt 2>&1
grep ENOENT fferrors.txt
hope that helps
Note: I also have ffmpeg with nux's repo installed

CentOS 7, firefox, and flash
I posted Friday about this oddity. Now I've got more data, and what's
happening is this: if I tell noscript to enable youtube and googlevideo in
one tab, not only does it affect *all* tabs, but also affects another
browser window opened from the first browser window.
Anyone have any clues for a workaround fix?

Re: Problem building wxRuby: htmlproc.h not found
Hi,
Has this problem been resolved?
I encountered the same problem on my FC3 system with wxGTK-2.4.2 and
wxruby-0.6.
Thanks.
