C5 RPM for RequestTracker now available
Hello, I took a stab at packaging RequestTracker for CentOS 5. Basically some needed FC6 packages were rebuilt as el5. The results are here: http://www.tlviewer.org/rt3/ I'm an rt3 newbie. I'm in the process of reading the DOCS and setting up the DB. The install via RPM appears to be sound. So far the login page for RT opens successfully. I've yet to setup the mail-dispatcher. --

special tricks for developers box on centos 5
I was just wondering if there are special tricks people do that compile A LOT on centos? Do RAM disks help or something else I dont about that minimizes your compile time? I presently have and AMD x2 4800+ with 2GIG ram. Just curious if I can reduce any more time out of my compiles. Jerry

HELP! Group info problem
I just tried an install from my local repo (boot from CD 1, use http method), and it failed right after entering the root password setting with: Unable to read group information from repositories. This is a problem with the generation of your install tree. Reboot So now what? Is there something I can just extract from the isos? (remember I did that rsync). Is this caused by running

[OT] would any of you recommend a ticketing system?
Hi all, sorry for being OT but would any of you recommend a ticketing system? We'd like something pretty comprehensive to cover helpdesk and HR stuff as well as software bugs/requests. There seems to be a million variations out there.

Installing GLIBC for CentOS 4.6
I'd like to modify pthread library ( e.g. manipulating some functions ) in glibc, so I want to compile and install modified glibc. However, I failed to compile glibc and need some help. How can I fix the problem? Here is the process that I've tried. 1. download glibc-2.3.4.tar.tar from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc/ 2. unzip glibc-2.3.4.tar.tar 3. make build-folder [root at localhost /]#

gettext does not work after glibc update
Hi, I recently upgraded my system to CentOS 4.6 and noticed that gettext does not behave as before the update. As soon as I install the old glibc version (glibc-2.3.4-2.36) instead of the new one (glibc-2.3.4-2.39) it works again. See the Attachment for details. Any hints would be appreciated! Thank you, Christoph -------------- next part -------------- # rpm -qa | grep glibc

Survival 2.39
A new version of the survival package has been released. The biggest change is stronger support for multi-state models, which is an outgrowth of their increasing use in my own practice. Interested users are directed to the "time dependent covariates" vignette for discussion of the tmerge and survSplit functions, which are useful tools to build the requisite data sets, and to the

python dist-utils and python-config [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]
UNOFFICIAL Hi, I'm trying to build samba-latest on CentOS 7. The PC is not online, so I have to download everything manually. Most of the prerequisites are on the CentOS Everything ISO so I don't have to download a lot. I installed all the documented dependencies and configure complained about python3. So I downloaded and installed python36-libs-3.6.8-1.el7.x86_64.rpm
