Email Aggregation for Secure Local, Remote and Mobile Access
Further to my inquiry a while back, if any of you fine folks want to set up something like this, here is a "cookbook" to get it done. http://www.melvilletheatre.com/articles/secure-email-aggregation/ It's very convenient, and the whole thing lives on the computer under my desk so I'm not handing my life over to google or whoever, either. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Real D 3D

tls not working with postfix in chroot mode on centos4.0
hey friends, I am trying to make postfix run with tls in chroot mode, but I am not able to send the messages with tls on. I am using postfix 2.2.10 on centos 4.0 and I had compiled the postfix from sources with tls & cyrus-sasl support. I copied the certificates from /usr/share/ssl to /etc/postfix. Below are the errors I am getting: May 25 13:27:51 test1 postfix/smtpd[4095]: warning: TLS

problem on exceptional quit
Hi Frank, Thanks for your prompt reply. The server is in my office. Because I tried a few computers, so it shouldn?t be a problem of Internet connection of the clients. I tried to ping the server, and it can accept all data. Is there a good way to check it? It always worked well for centos 6.6 using the same server and the same internet connections (IP, cable etc). The problem came out while

Mysterious versioning reported by file command
I just noticed this, which doesn't actually seem to affect anything but does create a mystery: [frankcox at mutt temp]$ cat test.c #include <stdio.h> int main(void) { printf("Hello world\n"); return 0; } [frankcox at mutt temp]$ gcc -o test test.c [frankcox at mutt temp]$ file test test: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared

I've added dia to my repo nux-dextop. BTW LibreOffice Draw can be used as well (with the added bonus that it can also do Visio files AFAIK). -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! CentOs 7.0 and reboot failure
if you look in /lib/systemd/system runlevel1.target is a link to rescue.target I think the command is systemctl isolate rescue.target (or runlevel1.target if you prefer) On Sun, Nov 23, 2014 at 3:15 PM, Frank Cox <theatre at melvilletheatre.com> wrote: > On Sun, 23 Nov 2014 12:02:17 -0800 > Edward M wrote: > > > Centos 7 runs systemd > > This actually bring up

Intel Displayport on Centos 7
As long as you have the DisplayPort connection on your computer and you have the proper cable to connect it to the monitor then it's no trouble. I had been using dual DP monitors on my last work machine. Also, note that sometimes the PC end is normal DisplayPort but sometimes it has a mini DisplayPort connection. Just get the right cable and it should be as simple as HDMI. On Jan 28, 2015

rsync backup to fileserver - mystery
that diff has /misc/misc/ in the second compare argument. Not sure if thats the exact command you have been entering or if you retyped it. If that is a good path or is rsync creating new ?misc? folders inside your original misc folder? -- Jeremy Thompson Sports Warehouse Inc. jeremy at warehousesports.com > On May 1, 2015, at 10:10 AM, Frank Cox <theatre at melvilletheatre.com>

CentOS 6.3 packages updates options without upgrading.
Yes you would break all kinds of things. In a nutshell folks are saying you are free to try but when it blows up...you better have a total backup to restore the entire box. Your first priority should be getting whatever is holding you back from proper system updates and security out of the way. CentOS 6.3 packages updates options without upgrading.
Thanks Frank and all. Understood, but unfortunately, updating to latest version of CentOs 6 is not the option in this specific situation, in stead, we are taking a look into options of updating only hand picked packages on Centos 6.3 to latest. Any other guidance is welcome and appreciated. On Mon, Nov 7, 2016 at 10:47 PM, Frank Cox <theatre at melvilletheatre.com> wrote: > On Mon, 7
