IE flakiness?
I set up a simple BlindUp and BlindDown div that works seamlessy in Firefox but doesn''t work as smoothly in IE. When blinding down, the whole div flashes and then Blinds down. The same thing when blinding up. Is this something that is fixable? _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

RE: help with syntax
I guess the first step is reading up on OOP in javascript... http://www.webreference.com/js/column79/ http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/JsOOP1.asp Then, check out the definitive prototype.js guide... http://www.sergiopereira.com/articles/prototype.js.html -----Original Message----- From: rails-spinoffs-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

IE/CSS issue using Sortables....but only on the first drag
OK, I''m in need of help :) I''ve got a bug in IE (whoa!) that I can''t figure out. I think its CSS-related, but I sure can''t figure out what the problem is. Go here: http://jerod.ontasksoftware.com/demo/index.php and drag one of the items in the center listbox. In FF, it works beautifully. In IE6, it shoots off to the left...but ONLY once. After

Choppiness in FF v1.5
Hey all, I''ve got an interesting one for anyone who''s up for a challenge. Essentially, I have a very choppy effect, that almost looks like timeouts are overloaded or interfering or something, that only occurs when sortables are on the same page as "standard" effects. Here''s what I''m doing: I have a menu that slides in and out on the right side of

possible Slide and Blind IE bug
Hi, I''m new to this list, new to script.aculo.us but pretty comfortable with javascript. I''m trying to get a combination of Effect.SlideUp and Down and Effect.BlindUp and Down to well... it''s hard to describe, maybe have a visit here (try in firefox first): http://bruno.biosci.arizona.edu/occa/test.html Click on "next month" a couple times, then click on

RE: scriptaculous appear effect and tiny_mce bug onopera 9
I seem to recall the Effect.Appear setting the final opacity to 0.99 to avoid some bug on some browser; anyone remember the specifics? Seems like we should probably just conditionally check for the broken browser and set to 0.99 for only that one, otherwise leave it at 1.0, but I know I don''t have the full picture of why it was necessary or whether it still is. Unspecified error in prototype.js
Hi, 1. I have 2 panes, each having approximately 45-50 slides, all the slide images are 110x82 pixels in size, enclosed in their respective div''s. 2. These divs are further enclosed in a parent div, which is defined as a Sortable on page load. 3. There is a destination div on the RHS also. Sortable.create("div_leftDiv", {ghosting:true, revert: true, dropOnEmpty:true,

Element.observe () binding
Hey all, I working on a project, but I am not sure I can do what I want to do. The following works beautifully: Event.observe(el, ''click'', function () { this.className += " myClass"; return false; }); I have also tried doing this: this.varname = ''test''; Event.observe(el, ''click'', function () { alert (this.varname); }.bind

Questions about Sortable javascript
Hi, I''ve been playing with sortable, the demos on script.aculo.us and reading the javascript. I hope I''m not just missing the documentation somewhere but I can''t find it. I want to do something like Sortable for the admin side of an open source ecommerce project I''m working on [1]. I''m relatively new to DHTML but understand the basic ideas. If someone

Released: window dialog script
Hello, First, please let me thank you to Ryan Gahl and Jerod Venema for their patient help - really appreciated their input - I couldn''t have done this script without their support. Today I released a dialog script based on scriptaculous and prototype. A demo can be seen here: http://net4visions.com/dev/dialog/dialog.htm . Please see the readme and changelog file for details. Prototype: Position.clone()
Does the duplicate clone method of Position serve a subtle purpose that I don''t understand? I feel kind of foolish even asking, but ... I just don''t get it. I''ve been looking at this for a couple days now and as far as I can tell, the first definition is useless as it gets overlaid by the second one. I don''t see any closure trickery going on here, either.

Looking to develop for scriptaculous
Hello All, I have just joined rails-spinoffs mailing lists and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Casey and I am a professional Web and J2EE developer currently working out of New York. I am very interested in contributing to the Scriptaculous javascript library. For the past few months I have been using certain functions in the library and I have to say that it has taken my

vertical menus
Hello all, Not a directly related question to scriptaculous or prototype, but I am looking for a good, dynamic vertical javascript menu. I''ve done some searching and there are a lot of menu implementations out there. I''m looking for something more or less free, but will pay/donate a small fee towards something worth while. I figured I''d ask here to help filter down

Resizeable
Has anyone done any work on a "Resizeable" class they''d be willing to share? I''m looking to do some stuff that''ll need resizable divs, but I didn''t want to re-invent the wheel if I can avoid it. -Jerod _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

RaislsEdge - where to get latest javascripts ?
To play with RJS I just made a "rake freeze edge". But this copies only the libs into vendor/rails and any attempt of "rake update_javascripts" fails. But all the he required javascripts are there, at: BASEPATH/vendor/rails/actionpack/lib/action_view/helpers/javascripts/ Except of prototype, they seem to have no version number, so I am asking whether I should take those

cleanWhitespace and parentNode
Hey cats, I seem to have ran into a problem in IE trying to use parentNode with the cleanWhitespace method. doing something like: var div = $(''mydiv''); Element.cleanWhitespace(div); works really great, but try doing: var div = $(''mydiv''); Element.cleanWhitespace(div.parentNode); or var div = $(''mydiv''); div = div.parentNode;
